i found this cookie recipe on www.grist.org and thought it could be adapted to raw. sounds so interesting! here are the ingredients:

Curried Peanut Butter Crumbles
(Makes 20-24 cookies)

1 and 1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 cup light brown sugar
8 tablespoons (1 stick) room temperature unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons Madras curry powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
a little bit of extra flour for the fork, if needed

so, all you chefs out there, any thoughts?
i guess you'd start with some nut and dried fruit combo (ah.. but which?)
maybe some ground oat groats.
i'd keep the oj -- good with curry.
and the curry powder. that's the kicker!

anyone game?

many blessings,
shelah

How about replacing the peanut butter with almond butter and the purpose flour with almond flour.

Heres my thoughts

Curried Peanut Butter Crumbles
(Makes 20-24 cookies)

1 and 1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter ( maybe chop raw peanuts in a processor until it becomes sooth like peanut butter.)
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 cup light brown sugar (Maybe use raw honey)
8 tablespoons (1 stick) room temperature unsalted butter ( almond butter)
1 large egg ( you shouldnt need this really. Maybe use a few dates as a stick together substance)
1 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour (Muesli ground up)
2 teaspoons Madras curry powder
1 teaspoon baking powder (not needed)
a little bit of extra flour for the fork, if needed

ill add my thoughts to the fun :)

Curried Peanut butter cookies:

1 1/2 cups almond butter
1/2 tsp sea salt (this will make the almond butter taste like pnut butter with the saltiness)
1 cup agave or honey
1/2 cup mashed banana
2 tbs ground flax
1 1/2 cups oat groat or nut flour
2 tsp curry powder

I'll give it a whirl!

Curried Nut Butter Crumbles
(Makes 20-24 cookies)

1 and 1/2 cups raw almond or cashew butter
1/4-1/2 cup of almonds, chopped in food processor
1/8 tsp. sea salt
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 cup raw blue agave or soaked dates pureed to a paste
1 tsp. coconut butter or oil (gives a slight buttery flavor to some dishes if used in moderation)
1 TBS. ground golden flax seeds - beat with 1 TBS. water for your "egg"
1 and 1/2 cups almond flour or if you choose, use sprouted/dried grains such as wheat berries or spelt berries and grind those into flour. I'd also use nut milk pulp that has been dried and ground to flour.
2 teaspoons Madras curry powder
