Just started on a Buckwheat kick. At first it took me a while to get a handle on sprouting buckwheat, until I was enlightened and realized that initially you must wash them like crazy...now that I have been successful, I am on a buckwheat kick and am searching for new recipes using buckwheat. Any suggestions?

Hi Katie,
I usually soak them over night and blend them with bananas and coconut oil for porridge... Not much but I hope it somewhat helps ;)

I like to dehydrate sprouted buckwheat and mix it with all kinds of dried/fresh fruits, nuts, juice or nutmilk - delicious! Also nice sprinkled on top a crunchy salad.
cheers,

I often make pizza with sprouted buckwheat. I mix it with veggie pulp, garlic, parsley, whatever nuts or seeds i have on hand. Then i dehydrate into a crust and top with yummy thick sundried tomato sauce and veggie toppings :)
i also sometimes blend it until smooth with banana, carob, agave, orange juice to make a pudding.

Thanks guys, these are all great ideas.
Speaking of pizza-type flat breads...last night I made a flat bread based on a recipe I glanced at in a thread from this site. It was incredible. Basically, I threw some sprouted soft wheat berries, sprouted chick peas, sun-dried tomatoes, red peppers, Nama Shoyu, and flax seeds in the food processors. Then spread the mixture on some teflex sheets and dehydrated it overnight...I could hardly stop eating it today...I love this site because it gives me so many great ideas.
Thanks for sharing. You guys (and everyone on this site) are RAWsome!!!
Keep spreading the goodness around and hopefully the living foods lifestyle will catch on!

It's used to make most pizza crusts. It's also used to make the challah bread recipe thats around here somewhere (see the photo thread).
Alissa's cinnamon raison bread has buckwheat and its delicious!
