Does anyone have difficulty digesting the starchy part of kale and collards? Should it be combined with only lettuce and carrots?

I seem to have difficulty with it if I put it in a smoothie or combine it with nuts. Is it just me?

I pull the leaves off of the hardier greens such as kale, collards, chards, etc., and even the veins go into the compost if they are very hard or old. (Some of these parts are like the outer layers of broccoli stems, which we normally shave off to consume the softer inner stem, which is edible and delicious, even raw).

I did eat the stems of greens cooked, they were delcious; but it's not something I eat raw. I prefer to get all the leafies in that I can.

I don't pull the softer stems and veins of more delicate greens and herbs like baby spinach and parsley.

Yes! I have started doing that too. I like the taste of the stalks, they just seem difficult to digest when mixing with avocadoes or nuts/seeds.

Glad to hear I'm not alone..... :o

I pick all the leaves off and then juice the stalks and eat the pulp.
