When I make a raw lunch, kids kind of make fun of me....Once in a blue moon, THE WHOLE FAMILY goes raw till dinner!!! My mother has eat'in raw since August 5,2005!!! :D The 4 other kids SOMETIMES, go raw for the day!!! My brother is wanting to be a gourmet chef when he gets older so his food is GREAT!!! :), so it is hard to get around his meals !!!....any ideas?

I am raw-siobhan and my 11-year-old daughter is m&m. We struggle to be raw, but we fail a lot of the time unfortunately. I am sure that she would be happy to support you in this and perhaps you two can support eachother. Are you in the Phoenix area? We are out in Buckeye (about a half hour west of Phoenix). :)

Hi,
I have 6 granddaughters, and they are from 6 months to 16 years old, they love raw food.
Maybe you could get your brother, the one that is going to be a gourmet cook, to make you some gourmet raw recipes.
I used to cook all kinds of meat and things, went to chef school etc, and now I prepare raw gourmet meals, it's really fun.
You sound like a very mature young woman.
I'm glad to have you here on this board.
What do you like best about being a raw foodist?
What is your favorite food? or foods?
mine are pesto stuffed mushrooms, meatloaf made with nuts, enchiladas, brownies, ice cream made with nuts, and fresh fruit.

I am Alex's mom....she doesn't have an avatar for now I'd rather she use mine. She IS very mature for 10 and will love reading these replies later tonight! M&M is a cute name....we'll have to think of a good one for her too....She would like to be "more raw" I know but when my son or anyone cooks they don't like to do seperate dishes for anyone...I'll just share mine with her when she wants it but the sibling rivalry/ridicule can also be bad......not that I approve it by any means but with 5 kids you know how they can get amongst each other!!!
RP-she loves to make salads and green smoothies.....Maybe we can get some more ideas here!

As m&m's mom I need a lot of help setting a good example for her. How do you do it in a house full of family that eats cooked food? I seem to fall victim (by my own choosing unfortunately) to cooked foods all of the time and my little ones see me cave in all the time. HOW DO YOU DO IT????

OMG, I WISH I could get everyone in the house interested in RAW.....unfortunately not the case....I mean they go in spurts but surrounded by SAD temptation I guess is too much for them Alex is the one interested and she does try God bless her...I just thought if she could make a "cyber friend"/ pen pal that was also wanting to learn more it would help her? How RAW is "M&M?" Does she take raw meals to school? I just want my kids to LEARN from me and choose to eat this way without FORCING them but it is very difficult....any suggestions???

how wonderful to hear you would like to start eating more raw! me and my husband have been raw for 2 years.....remember that you can do it in little steps...one by one...and maby you would like to start making yourself some yummy treats.....makes it more fun perhaps....
i think that everyone who has ever tried to eat more raw foods can share with you their stories of how chalenging it gets at times, remember we are all here to support you! i was just looking around an some websites and saw a few books that might help you or your mom...they were on: raw-pleasure.com.au just to get some ideas of title's and writers maby....
my husband makes himself realy tasty icecream every night...just gets some frozen fruits, banana, berries etc, some nuts, cinamon, vanilla, and processes it up in the foodprocessor, taaadaaa, super icecream thats good for ya! maby a nice option when your other sisters and brothers are eating something tasty.....keep it up, princess, step by step ;)

I havent set the greatest example for her lately and she pretty much follows my lead. She certainly has her favorites, though. She loves flax crackers with Mexican seasoning that I bought on online dipped in guacamole. she also likes banana ice cream flavored with berries. :)

Just a warning to the kids and their parents.
Hi Alex

Hey Alex, I think it is so awesome that you want to be raw! It suggests that you care about your health, I have always been the same way. I am 15 years old, but I would be happy to talk to you any time! Let me know if you want to talk and I'll give you my email address. Your mom has helped me out multiple times and she is a very inspiring woman, I could only hope to meet your lovely family some day!
Feel free to ask for my email!
