I'm really considering consuming regular grass from outdoors, even grass from my garden.

I've been growing lots of wheatgrass myself indoors with trays and juicing that, but it's stopped my digestion, getting no bowel movements and I know it's all due to the mold that grows in ALL wheatgrass that is grown artificially (indoors within 10 days). I've read it up about the mold gives all wheatgrass grown indoors the very sweet taste, whereas wheatgrass grown outside has a malty taste not comparable to the sweet taste.

I really feel I'd benefit from fresh grass from outdoors and then juice it. No mold this way. Has anyone taken regular grass from outside and juiced it? I'm not talking about on purposely planting wheat seeds in the ground and growing and eating that, but just any grass already grown. Are there places where the grass is cleaner and more nutritious? Would is be ok to get some from my garden?

Any help would be great!

Hi there,

My brother is the master wheatgrass grower at Hippocrates Health in WPB,FL.

Mold is a common problem. Here is his website. Check it out. He is open to emails with any questions. Tell him you got his site from his sister in Vermont. Growing your own grass is certainly the best. I have never been able to achieve that. Keep trying..... I smile as I drink my cucumber and wheatgrass juice this morning...... :)

Anne Wigmore started on grass by watching her grandmother use common garden grass to heal soldiers during the war (she'd put them on a diet of nothing but grass and it would heal gangrene).
When Anne grew up and became ill she started eating common garden grass and it made her better. She chose wheatgrass by offering lots of different grasses to cats, and that was the one they preferred.
Wild grass would obviously be better than deliberately-grown lawn grass. I've been thinking of juicing common grass too but have been unsure where to get it from. I don't have a garden. :(
Good luck!

thanks for the replies!

I know growing my own would be the best way, but I've had it now. ALL wheeatgrass grown indoors in trays creates mold however visible it is and therefor makes the grass taste sweeter.

I just now really want to try soe fresh, outdoor , naturally grown grass and get the benefits of the grass, rather then consuming some mold at the same time.. I want the malty taste, not the sweet taste!

Again, I'd really like to know the best locations for the freshest, cleanest grass ! I'm tempted too try my garden grass first but its quite short at the moment and am worried about cats that may of been walking or peeing on it as theres a few cats in my area!

Hi

I tried lawn grass once out of curiosity and it was awful. I live in Florida so I can keep my wheatgrass outside but I know people who do grow it inside and they keep a fan on the grass to eliminate the mold. I guess you are doing all the washing routines.

I juice my own indoor wheatgrass in the winter, and wild grass from forest meadows in the summer.
Many years ago, I began with lawn grass. No problem.

There are a lot of grass sorts out there, with different biochemical composition and taste.
I always dilute the grass juice or wheatgrass juice with water.
I recommend this to every rawfoodist. Give it a try.

If you don't have a wheatgrass juicer, cut the grass/wheatgrass in pieces,
use a blender with water and strain it.
