I haven't been having problems with craving anything other than raw for awhile, yet for the past couple of hrs, I've been really, really wanting shrimp scampi. Any ideas for a good/satisfying raw substitute?

mmmmm.... I'd like to know too. I loooooove shrimp scampi. I know half and half can be substituted very successfully with coconut milk as I've done is successfully when making the real deal, but what can substitute the delicious shrimply flavor?
Interesting.. I have been craving shellfish as well, always makes me wonder if we are defficient in something? I don't have any recipe to offer, sorry, but find having something salty helps.
Good luck !

Eat some dulse with some oyster mushrooms marinated in lemon and a dash of salt.

How about this....well, just thinking, I can't really remember what "scampi" is like...a heavy sauce?? If so...how about Alissa's alfredo sauce, thinned down, add dulse flakes and the mushrooms? Sounds good to me, even if it's not exactly what you're looking for. Does this help??

I make this whenever I have a craving for seafood and I love the creamy texture. It goes so well with crackers and avocado or wrapped up in a Nori sheet with spinach and avocado. The possibilities with this one are endless.
Chrissy's Seafood Delight
2 cups walnuts
2 cups pecans
4 celery stalks
1 cup parsley (firmly packed)
1 cup scallion
1/4 cup lemon juice, or more to taste
1/4 cup nama shoyu
1 T kelp powder
6 Nori Sheets, crushed
Process walnuts and pecans in food processor until ground. Remove from processor and set aside in a bowl. Add celery, parsley, scallion, lemon juice, nama shoyu and kelp powder to FP and blend until smooth. Add crushed Nori Sheets and blend until smooth until Nori is fully saturated with the liquid. Add ground walnuts and pecans and process until smooth. Scrape down the sides occasionally to help it turn over.
Eat over some greens or with crackers and sliced cucumbers. Exellent with raw pickles and olives too!

Tvillemom, scampi is a butter garlic sauce. Very simple.
Revvell & Free Energy, thanks for the recipes. :)
Luckily the craving went away & then I briefly craved something else. Ignored that one too. I don't think I'm deficient in anything because I eat a wide variety of every group, plus supplement with flax oil, green powder, etc. Could be the opposite problem as I have been overeating at times. I've been lucky in not really having to deal with much SAD cravings. Part of it is probably because I don't go out & am barely around others. I'm sure it could be more of a challenge in the future when that changes.

I think eating things with dill or capers in makes you think of fish!
