Hello all,
I'm new, I think this is my first post, although I have done some reading in the past. Today I have been on a juice fast and I have been contemplating how long to go... just today, just 2 days, etc. I've never gone longer than a day. My goal is to clear up my acne, which has been a problem for many years. But I have this awful cold and I remember that saying, "Feed a cold, starve a fever," and I was wondering if fasting will help to heal my cold or make it worse?
Thanks!

Actually, fasting will help with getting rid of the cold symptoms because you are allowing your body to focus on healing and cleansing rather than digestion by not eating...think of animals - when they're sick, they just kinda lie around and do not eat anything.
Just keep in mind that cold symptoms are the body's way of cleansing (specifically the respiratory system) and you don't want to take any meds because that only stifles the symptoms and stops the process of cleansing just for you to have to eventually go through it again later. Thanks Rawkinlocs! I agree, definitely no meds for me, not for a couple of years. Unfortunately, this cold is not a result of the fast - it is a result of a week or two of bad eating. But now having started the fast, I understand that fasting can cause cold-like symptoms... so I wonder if I'm getting a double-whammy. I sure hope this shortens my cold!

I have this awful headache behind my right eye that is keeping me awake. I hate it when I can't sleep!

They got that old saying wrong.. it should go: If you feed a cold you will HAVE TO starve a fever! Meaning if you keep bombarding your body with food & remidies it will only make things worse not better. :D
