Thanks for the recipe! Just one question, do you have to have an ice cream maker for this or can you just use a powerful blender instead?

I'm still wondering that myself...I think I'm gonna try freezing some banana and other fruit and try to make ice cream in the food processor. I've seen ice cream makers online and wonder if they would work too....

I have an ice cream maker, to tell you the truth, I don't think it makes much difference. It still gets rock hard in the freezer. I think if you mixed it up, put it in the freezer, stirred it up a few times as it was freezing, you'd be fine. Or, freeze it in small tupperware thingies and put it into your vitamix to soften it. Or...get the plastic popsicle thingies and freeze it into fudgsicles.

Hey guys so I just made ice cream with some banana and pineapple I froze the night before and some frozen fresh squeezed orange juice. I made it in the food processor and it turned out creamy and delicious. I noticed after reusing it after freezing it, it kind of turns into a sorbet but harder. I usually let it thaw out for awhile and then eat it. I also tried making ice cream with almond milk and fruit and chocolate which was super good before I put it in the freezer but turned rock hard after being in the freezer overnight. It's still good once it softens up a bit but doens't have quite the same ice cream texture as the stuff I made with banana. Has anyone had success making more of a milky or creamy ice cream? I thought about using some coconut butter but all I have is the 4oz travel size so I don't want to use too much of it and don't know if it would turn out good or not.
