hello everyone!

I'm marci, I'm 30 years old, and I'm super excited to learn about raw foods. I found this site through the site www.freshtopia.net.

my current diet is mostly yogurt, chicken (ew, I know!), cereal and soymilk, salmon, cheese (god, I love cheese), and fruit. I feel like it's pretty healthy, yet I don't feel healthy much of the time and am overweight. I've tried to go vegetarian twice and did ok for a few months, but always returned to meat.

The raw diet really makes sense to me though... and I want to feel healthy, lose weight (i'm getting married next september!), see my skin clear up a bit, and be healthy! I also read that a raw diet can help people who have diabetes.. which my father does, and I'd love to help him get healthy as well.

a little about me:

I'm 30 years old. Living in Central New York but I'm really a Texas girl. I just moved here a little over a year ago from Austin, Texas and I miss it soooo much. I love music, festivals, travelling, cooking, learning about food and nutrition and health, and reading.

Right now my goal is just to learn more about the raw lifestyle and to incorporate one raw meal a week into my diet. I plan to gradually increase this and hopefully get to where I"m at least 75% raw.

I ordered alissa's book and dvd and should be getting it soon.. I can hardly wait.

thanks for reading and I'll see you all on the boards! :)

Welcome Luna!

Encorporating raw food into your life is a journey. You can move as fast or slow as you like. However, you will see results sooner the faster you go. Good luck and welcome to the boards!

welcome good to have you here, you will find lots of wonderful recipes in the recipe forum, also you can use the banana at the top of the page to search for almost anything, just in case you can't get an answer to a question.

RAW, RAW, RAW. you ordered the Book and once you recieve it you WILL not be able to put it down until it is Complete. You have made such a wish choice and I am extremily proud of you.

Can we talk about cheese? I was IN AND UNDER LOVE WITH cheese. I thought our romance would never end, THEN RAW Came into my Life and now cheese is just a distant memory. I thought I could never live without it but it has happened and I am So EXCITED. I am no longer filled with FLIMM, I no longer waste time clearing the Mucus from my throat.

I gave up chicken so long ago, all I can say about it is bow- wow. ??

This is a LifeStyle and a Journey that you travel as you wish, there are NO RAW Police here, only Helping Hands to lend to you to aid you in whatever compacity you need.

So READ all you can, ask questions, keep RAW snacks handy. Spend time in Food Preperation.

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.........Welcome to MY World......

Hi Luna,

we share the same name! :p

I am also in the process of transitioning to raw...it's a very exciting journey. I don't think I have been this excited about anything in a long, long time.

Welcome to the forum, everybody here is really nice and there is lots of helpful info...and recipes.

Welcome to raw!

Do you eat any greens? My lunch today included Chinese broccoli and green onion, and the combination was quite green.

Pierre -

I do eat some greens but not enough. I'm in love with broccoli but it's hard for me to eat salads unless they are full of things like cheese and nuts and sweet dressings.

btw, I got my book and dvd today... I looked like a kid on christmas day! I know I'm going to devour the book.
