Hi everyone! I've been lurking around this board for a day or so, and I finally decided to join! It seems like this is a very nice and helpful community.

I am nineteen years old and have been vegetarian for a year, vegan since March 2006. I first heard about the raw food lifestyle on a vegetarian/vegan forum, and being interested I decided to start reading The Sunfood Diet Success System by David Wolfe. I almost completed the book in just under a day!

I am very interested and excited to start on the raw food diet - long-term, not for weight loss. Health and spiritual reasons are my motivations. I am a generally healthy person, but I still consume a decent amount of heavily processed, cooked foods. I'd like to do some sort of cleanse or gentle fast before I switch to 90+% raw foods - any suggestions? Any help is appreciated! I looked into the Master Cleanse, but I am weary of the high sugar content. I am open to opinions on this matter.

Well, that's all! I look forward to meeting, discussing, and learning from all of you. :)

Welcome!

There's a whole section on fasting...maybe the folks there could best answer that question for you. There are many people with loads of experience on this board. I learn something new everyday from the commmunity.
