I want to treat myself to a few raw books for Christmas any suggestions?
P.s. I have Alissa's book already.

I just listed a book called Rawsome! by Brigitte Mars on Ebay. It had alot of information about specific foods. Also some recipes for cleansing and just good recipes in general.

My vote goes to Raw Food REal World. Very Chic recipes and many photos (I'm very visual).

For easy recipes, get Gabrielle Chavez's book Raw Food. It was the first one I bought, and I still use it every week. No photos, though.

Another good raw book is "The Raw Food Factor" by Susan Schenck, if you would like to see some raw science.

Sorry, it's the "Live Food Factor" by Susan Schenck...

BuddyLive, that book sounds interesting. Does it get into the science of enzymes and what live enzymes do for us, etc?

if you want enzyme science... go to the original man - Dr. Edward Howell "Enzyme Nutrition".. it's small and cheap and is loaded with info about raw vs. cooked

Rawfoodiemom, I think Dr. Edward Howell "Enzyme Nutrition".. would be a better choice about enzymes. She does get into enzymes though.

These are also my 3 most favorite along with Alissa's book. I have most other raw food books on the market and enjoy browsing through them all but these top 4 are really the only ones I use consistently.

For really tasty dishes, I'd go with Celebrating Our Raw Nature by Dorit Dyke.

It isn't packaged as slickly as Matt Amsden's book or Raw Food Real People -- meaning the pictures and typesetting and celebrity endorsements don't pop -- but everything I've tried is excellent. As is her food when I've eaten it at events.

Most recipes are not complex at all. But, they are delicious. This is one book that I keep coming back to.

Additionally, Dorit is a Deepak Chopra educator and a thoughtful, centered, peaceful person; you can see her in the picture of Storm and Jinjee and kids on their main page where they're at the premiere of their movie (www.thegardendiet.com (http://www.thegardendiet.com)). Her workshop, The Sacred Art of Eating, changed the way I approach meal preparation and eating.

Oh!! I forgot! She was interviewed on Steve Prussack's Raw Vegan Radio. Here 'tis: http://rawveganradio.podomatic.com/entry/2006-07-21T11_45_27-07_00

She's also the creator of the first raw film festival which will be held in March 2007 in Hollywood.

She's at www.serenityspaces.org (http://www.serenityspaces.org)

Another one I like is Ani Phyo's Smart Monkey Food, but it may be out of print. You can check at the smart monkey food website.

I recommend Dr. Doug Graham's new book "The 80-10-10 Diet." It is sure to answer any question you may ever have on the raw food diet. His website is www.foodnsport.com

Another vote for Raw Food Real World (mix of recipes, advice and many glossy pictures)

Also I really like Cousens books, Conscious Eating and Rainbow Diet. He infuses alot of the spiritual aspects of diet and the effects on the body, emotional and mental states. Very well written and informative.
