I prepared the 'Easy Crust' with sprouted buckwheat, soaked flax seeds, etc, and the mixture was VERY runny when I put it on the teflex sheets. I spread it like a batter and am now worried that it should have been much thicker.
This is the first time I've made any sort of piza base so can anyone tell me if the consistency sounds right? I suppose it wil firm up once it gets dehydrated?
Thanks.

I wonder why it was so runny? Did you recheck the ingredients?
Well.. I'd say don't worry.. just dehydrate it. It will thicken up as it dries, right?

I had a similar thing happen to me with her burger bun recipe which I was using as pizza crust. The dough looked a little wet to me (Perhaps too much water from the soaked buckwheat?) so I simply added a little ground flax seeds. The crust turned out great so maybe you could try it.
Although, I agree with RowanC, it would probably be fine as it is and would only take longer.
ooh, it should be spreadable and formable but no runny. I would go back over the ingredient list and see where you have gone over or under on something?
As mentioned it will take longer but see how it comes out.
good luck!

It seems to be firming up but it's going to need to stay in the dehydrator overnight!!

Well, I dehydrated this overnight and ended up with a lovely crispy pizza base BUT...... I don't like the taste!!! I think the flax seeds make it too overpowering. It's rather bitter. Drat...don't like to waste it but think I'll have to.

I make pizza crust from Alissa's calzone crust recipe only I change the seasonings to more italian ones. It makes a nice crispy crust!

I do the same - I made her calzone recipe (halved it) and dumped in 4 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning. It doesn't taste like pizza crust that you get normally - but it has it's own unique taste that is really tasty - and even better the next day, cold out of the fridge. Yum! I'm making it again today and plan to put half the curry, since that made a really strong curry-italian taste - and also not so thick of crust since that took FOREVER to get done.
It's fun to try a recipe, then tweak it next time to your own particular taste. For instance, I dehydrated mine with green peppers, mushrooms, pineapple, tomates, and onions. It was yummy, but the veggies were like fruit leather, LOL. So this time I'm going to put the veggies on when I'm halfway done, as opposed to the majority of the time.
