Alissa

We all have little abbreviations we use ( DH, Coor, etc...) and some terminology (ripped, omni ) that we use that others may not understand, so i thought we could list those here.
Feel free to add to this list and keep us enlightened ;)
Thanks!
Alissa

coooooooooooooooooooor - thrilling in a sensual way

Greengirl, I think Marigold explained the coor already, see quote. It's like 'yummm, soooooo good!!' Maybe a bit like a cat can pur (sp?)

And 'woot', that's just Kirk's way to say 'Woohooooo' I think... lol :)

What does SAD stand for? I keep seeing this abbreviation in some of the postings and cannot figure out what it means. I'm guessing it has something to do with cooked food, but would really like to know.

IBSC - Itty Bitty Sh*tty Committee - that loud chorus of nagging critics in the back of your head (or on your shoulders, perhaps, or behind you) who have something to say about everything, all of the time, none of it good.

Examples:

I was just reaching for the raw granola this morning when the IBSC chimed in to tell me to skip the nuts and twigs and go out for a McGriddle instead.

or

I thought I was finally looking a little better in the mirror, until the IBSC outvoted me.

CRSS - Can't Remember Stuff* Syndrome, a sign that you are finally mature. Often abbreviated as CRS

"Now what was I saying? My CRS just kicked in..."
or
"Sorry, I meant to do it, but I forgot. I have CRSS, you know, so be nice."

*polite version :)

OMGAIA!!! = Oh My Gawd Ain't It Awful!!!

This is used to describe alarmist stories that grab your attention about something truly horrible that supposedly just happened/is happening/will happen soon that somebody heard about and told somebody else who is telling you and now you want to call your best friend right now and tell them about it too because Oh My Gawd Ain't It Awful!!!

Allso known as CLWR!!! (Chicken Little Was Right!!!) stories, and, you guessed it, they are almost always bogus. But we do love a good scare, don't we?

Shivananda

These are terms I invented to help distinguish key levels of engagement with raw foods without having to type so much every time:

Shivananda's Rulz of Raw:

ARAT - All Raw All the Time - Raw food is how you eat, and what you eat, and all that you eat, 24/7, foresaking all others...

ARST - All Raw Some of the Time - primarily applies to people who periodically do raw food cleanses, often at expensive retreats or spas, but then go back to cooked food in between. Sometimes found at parties extolling the virtues of raw foods and acting superior.

SRAT - Some Raw All of the Time - also known as "transitioning," or "sitting on the fence (SOF)," when you identify yourself with the idea of living on an all raw food diet without actually making the commitment or taking the appropriate actions. Rumored to be a harder place to exist than the third ring of Hades

SRST - Some Raw Some of the Time - when you are first interested in learning about raw food, or see it as as a viable way to supplement your regular diet, or are experimenting with it to see what the heck everyone is talking about
-OR-
you are sexually attracted to an ARAT person and know they won't be at all impressed by your usual three visits a week to Dallas BBQ, so you adopt the protective coloration of eating something raw whenever you are around them while bitching about the high price of organic apples, and you always carry a well thumbed copy of "Green For Life" that you bury yourself in while waiting for them to meet you at Starbucks, hoping they notice.

NRNT - No Raw None of the Time - you don't care what anybody says, raw food is crap and you aren't eating it!!! And quite often, through the universal law of balancing energies, you are married to an ARAT person.

There are some spelling variations I've being seeing lately, and it's (usually) obvious what they mean but I'm curious as to why people do it?

-Mylk
-Womyn
-Cheeze
-Smoozie

And plenty more that don't come to mind at the moment...

Aleesha Sattva
08-08-2010, 08:30 PM
they use mylk instead of milk because most people see the word milk and think of animal milk. mylk is used to represent the liquid made from nuts.

womyn is another version of women... it's because they want to remove the word men.

not sure about cheeze although i'm thinking it's the same as mylk.

smoozie is Rev's term for smoothie. it's her thing.
