FYI - This is actually called a fruit diet, because you are giving yourself nutrients.

A fast is really just taking in water.

Correct, and I think a "fruit fast" actually means: to obstain from/not eating
fruit; am I right or wrong? :)

Welcome to the board.

I am not an expert in fasting, but if I were to choose a fruit to fast on or eat only, it would be apples. Cantaloupe is pretty nutritious as well. Be sure to make it organic. I think what you are doing is already good for you, so you might just want to do the 1 fruit diet for a few days to see how you feel. I would go with the whole fruit because of the fiber content which will help clean the intestines.

i ment it like a juice fast, on fruit juices. I jus wanted to kno which fruit was best to cleanse and detox on. so far, I can't deside between: apples, starwberries, oranges, grapefruit, lemons/limes ><. I kinda like the apple idea, but... is it a great fruit to fast on?

Any type fruit juices are ideal. The fruit will give you nutrients and hydration while you are abstaining from food.

Your body is what heals itself, so the type of fruit doesn't really matter.

I like orange juice as well. Melons give a lot of liquid, as well as apples, pineapples and firm pears.

Using any type watery fruits will give you more liquid in general.

Things like bananas and mangoes dont have a lot of free water and are better eaten whole or blended.

I have a bag of cranberries I'm thinking of running through the juicer with some apples.

So whatever you are in the mood for would be just fine. :)

from personal experience, the only fruit I use in fasting on juices, is apple in conjuction with specific greens. Varying times, I have used tangerines, grapefruit and watermelon.

Ultimately, apples have various nutrients including the malic acid,pectin.........apples are alkalizing forming, colon friendly, diurectic and lower on the sugar scale than some of the others.

I believe that straining and dilluting juices are ideal while fasting :)

I prefer orange juice for a fruit-based fast. I'm actually doing a juice fast now, following a water fast.

Juice fasting is significantly easier than water fasting because not only are you providing the body with tons of energy, but the juice help with peristalsis.
