My name is Toni. I live in Northwest Indiana. I've been reading these posts for over a year now, dabbled in raw foods for about 3 years and I have been raw since January. I'm excited about my first raw Thanksgiving. I just gave the "stuffing" a trial run for the first time and it's terrific! Tastes just like the real thing!

Anyway, I love being raw, I've lost 50 lbs., still have about 35 to go. It comes off slow, but it comes off. I have experienced soooo many positive effects of eating a raw diet and it just keeps getting better. I started doing green smoothies every day a couple of weeks ago and my already so much better skin got even BETTER!

I'm a mom and a wife and we also co-habitate with my mom. Everyone else in the house is cooked, but I will say everyone eats more fruits and veggies than they used to. So, I do have to cook, but my husband cooks probably 3-4 nights a week, which is nice. None of my family members wants me to eat cooked food ever again! They like me better raw.

I also just want to say thanks to all the regular posters here on this site. You are all so encouraging and I guess I should write and contribute more, but sometimes it's being pressed for time that stops me. It's just great to have information and encouragement here and to be able to see that I'm not the only one who is going through certain issues with raw food.

I have yet to meet another raw food vegan. Will I ever? I don't know. But at least I know you're out there!

I'm so glad things are going well for you, toni. It seems like you are having a very positive experience with your family being behind you. I started having a quart of green drink everyday,(pineapple, strawberries, spinach, chard, dandelion greens, cucumber), and it's the ultimate fuel. I don't think I could go a day without it anymore.

This will be my first Thanksgiving too, and I'm soooo excited. Is your stuffing recipe from Alissa's book? I'm making her noasted turkey. I'm also making cranberry sauce, mushroom gravy, corn chowder, pumpkin pie and cinnamon icecream.

Have a great holiday.

Now you have one HAPPY blended Loving Famly. It was so touching to hear they wanted you to stay RAW although they were not. That is what has carried you so far and all the help you get will carry you the rest of the way.

Check out meetup.com , there has to be a group in your area, if not they will help you start one. You are doing so great but I know how you feel, you want to reach out and touch some flesh.

Stay encouraged and continue on your Journey and know that we are here for you. We are one Big Chorus, singing the RAW Song and our voices would not be as sweet without yours.

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW......Welcome to MY World.....

I'm in Northwest Indiana near Lake Michigan about 1-1/2 hours from Chicago. I've had the pleasure of visiting Karyn's in Chicago a few times and eating some yummy raw food. My hubby takes me there for b-day and anniversary & stuff like that. I esp. like the desserts!

I got my stuffing recipe off this site.
I'm not sure about how to add threads, but here's the address:

I just searched this site - keword: Thanksgiving.

I think it's a little different from Alissa's recipe? I'm pretty sure hers is a walnut stuffing which I'll have to try also!

It's nice to correspond with raw people! It's sooo cool to be almost a YEAR raw! I've had lots of eating issues to deal with and for the FIRST time in my life it's working out and I'm feeling better than ever.
I would love to check out a raw potluck!! I've signed up at meetups.com but nothing in my area has come about yet. There's stuff going on in Chicago, but I'd like something a little closer.

welcome,

yes, we are out here, and you'll just have to come on down to a pot luck somewhere semi-close to you, or start up a support group and post it on the calendar at your local health food store,

but YES, there are many of us out here, growing stronger and healthier by the day
