I'm not at all into the kitchen/food prep/cleanup thing, but I do want to keep trying different recipes. So, tonight, as I was chopping things up for the Raw Chili (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1231&highlight=chili) with my Pampered Chef chopper, tossing the debris into my "debris bowl", I was wondering if anyone else had some great time-saving ideas?

The debris bowl concept came from one of those cooking shows on TV (no, I don't remember which). Basically a bowl you throw stuff in until you are done and then take it all at once to the trash/compost. And well, the Pampered Chef chopper is my favorite kitchen item.

I picked up using the coffee grinder for nuts from this forum, which works incredibly. And I'm much happier with my food processor now that the lid broke such that I can permanently leave the "safety lock" embedded in the motor unit, and not have to fight with it each time I pull the lid off to stir, add, whatever.

Anyone else have food prep shortcuts that could help safe time and make life easier?
