Hi,

I'm a bit worried about lacking in calcium and iron due to the lack of green leafy veg available to us here! No chard, no kale etc.. the only thing we have that is organic is romaine lettuce! I know sesame seeeds are high in calcium and iron but my digestion seems to shut down for 24 hours after I have them!

So for the last week or so I've been growihng and juicing my own wheatgrass, having anywhere from 2-4 ounces of wheatgrass juice a day to try and get the benefits of all the green leafy veg I'm missing out on and all it's minerals.

So the question is, can 2 ounces of wheatgrass juice give me enough calcium and iron for a day (for the raw fooder)? I know 1 ounce is supposed to be the equivilent of 2 1/2 pounds of green veg, so I'm hoping theres a lot of calcium and iron in the wheatgrass too!

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks
James

Hey there. Here's a couple links to help you:

and:

I say if you can, meaning if your body "lets" you ingest wheatgrass - by all means, keep doing it! Some folks's systems cannot stomach it.
Read articles by Ann Wigmore - she was the wheatgrass guru. This is off of:

Think about it. There is the heavens and Earth and Earth has oceans and grass pretty much. Think of all the creatures that graze on grass.
It is good stuff - that's for sure!
