Haven't tried it, can't vouch for it.

Makes 16 pieces. 40 mins to prepare plus dehydrating time.

1/2 c. sprouted black eyed peas (optional)
2 1/2 c. sprouted kamut, spelt, or wheat berries
1 1/2 c. fresh squeezed orange juice
1 ts. Celtic sea salt
1 c. fresh herbs of choice, chopped fine
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 Tbl. cayenne
1/2 tsp. jalapeno
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped garlic
1 c. flax seeds

In a food processor combine the black eyed peas (opt), 2 c. of the grains, orange juice, Celtic salt, herbs, paprika, cayenne, jalapeno, onion and garlic and process into dough. Mix in by hand flaxseed s and remaining 1/2 c. grains. From dough into 8 x 8 inch square crusts, no bigger than 1/4 inch thick. Dehydrate 8-10 hours or until toasty. Cut inot 4 x 4 toast slices. Store in cool dry place. Real Toast keeps for one month.

Wendy, I tried it without the optional beans, and it was one of the better bread/cracker type things I have made. This reminds me, I am going to have to try it again.

I liked this one too Wendy- I dried mine way too long and it came out like melba toast crispy- but I liked it! These were really good with avocado butter (avo + a dash of sea salt) and a piece of tomato on top!

Hope you like them! I am making Julianno's falafel patties tomorrow- I will share the recipe if it is any good!

Melissa,

When you make falafels, how big do you make them? Are they supposed to be burger size or finger food size or what?

Hi, I made Julianos real toast without the optional beans, and with orange juice, I didn't like it at all.

But, I should try it with some other liquid

When I make Alissa's falafel, (I just love them) I make them the size of the fried falafel I used to get, about 1/4 cup in a mound shape, not flat like a burger, but thicker like 3/4 to 1 inch thick, although Alissa's call for alot of water, I thought they would be runny, but they weren't.

They are truly delicious, in the pizza wrap as the pita bread part, and then I put in the falafel, and sliced onion, sliced tomato and lettuce, with tahini dressings, yummy.

That sounds so yummy! But for some reason when I made the pizza bread, it didn't turn out. I'll have to try it again.

I made the falafels smaller, about 1 inch all around. They were great!
