Lately I've been obsessed with eating frozen peas...still frozen. Don't ask me why, I just like it :)
Anyways, they're organic, and it says on the company website that they're batch flash frozen. Is this raw and alright to be eating?

I used to eat frozen peas when I first went raw...then I discovered they're not really raw. Are you addicted to them? Most frozen fruits/veggies have been flash pasturized. You may want to contact the company to be sure.

-If you feel that they are healthy for you - then I encourage you to eat them. I simply feel that frozen is not as vital and healthy as fresh...so avoid frozen items. Your call.

If frozen peas are the only unraw thing you are eating then you are doing pretty good.

I believe they are blanched, so they aren't completely cooked, but between that and being frozen there is some nutrient loss.

If it's keeping you going, then stay on it. Sooner or later you'll move on to something else.

Oh, I'm not "addicted" to them in any way...I mean, I like them, but if I found out that they were awful for me, I could throw away the bag and forget about it.
Its one of those "munchies" foods for me...I don't feel so bad snacking on that or diced carrots or something while I watch TV...(which is a bad habit that I'm working towards giving up :))

I love frozen peas! I've been eating them since I was a kid. They are nice in a salad, too.

Have you heard of "Just Tomatoes" ... they have a "Just Peas" which are dehyrated at low temps. I think you will like them. I eat the Just corn and it's a great popcorn substitute.

All vegetables are blanched 2-4 minutes depending on what kind they are. So peas aren't raw, though normally they're only blanched for 1 minute or so.

Fruits are fine though because they are just picked, cleaned and flash frozen

Sometimes I wonder if food might be better frozen than "fresh?" I mean, if you get it from a Farmer's Market and it's grown close to home, then it's probably fresh. But if you get it at a supermarket, there's no telling where it came from, how long it's been store, and what it's been sprayed with to keep it 'fresh' or if it's been gassed, etc.

At least if it's frozen (and has not been heated) maybe it was done soon after harvest? I don't know about this, but am curious about your thoughts?

I eat fresh organic food that I grow, however, when I can't get that, then I go to the health food store to get fresh organic locally grown foods,

if I can't get that, then I will go to the farmer's market to get as fresh as possible, but maybe not organic,

if I can't get that, then I'll go to the grocery store, again, fresh but not organic
if I can't get that, then I'll buy frozen

but trust me on this, it had better be something that I MUST have, or else, I'll just sub it for somthing else, I'd rather not eat it then eat it frozen, and under NO circumstances will I eat anything canned. ugh!!!

* I just mailed a producer of frozen food (all kinds of berries etc..)
and I received this answer.
I prefer eating these frozen, than not eating them for a long period,
because they are short period available fresh.

regarding to your request we can tell you, that all our deep frozen organic fruits are not pasteurised or in some way heated at all.

Self-evident fumigation and irridiation is strictly forbidden. So we can garanty, that our deep-frozen organic fruits were not treated except the process of individually quick freezing, a very gentle way of processing.

With best regards
