Liver Spots?

The NIH states that they are in no way related to impaired liver function. These spots however, are still called by their ancient name for a reason and I believe that they are related. And since I have both the spots and a very painful liver I am interested in whole live raw food remedies for healing my liver. I recently learned this one which I will offer here:

1 cup pure water
1 clove garlic
1 piece (approx 1 inch of raw ginger)
1 TBLSP organic coldpressed olive oil

Blend.

I love this drink but no-one else does 'cause I stink afterwards. I don't care but am interested in learning other ways as well.

i know from studying herbs that for since like ancient romans the herb MILK THISTLE has been used for liver problems . its a common wild growing weed in north america thatd be easy to find during growing season . and when having a fresh source you could eat it as a salad green or juice it . you can also buy it in tea bag form at many places even grocers .

now im also reading up on liver topic here in my health book collection in a book by john hennierman = encyclopedia of fruits vegi herbs that artichoke is real good for liver . and he also states fresh juices of beet and tomato good . also the herb sage .

I was told by my dermatologist that they are called 'liver spots' because they are sort of liver colored. Mine are improving, by the way, since going raw. Maybe soon I can stop lying and really be 29 again! :D

:confused: This thread really just caught my eye.....I thought they were called liver spots/"cafe-au-lait" spots due to their color too????? However, I am VERY CURIOUS and intrigued to doing more research....My son has an incurable & untreatable tumor causing condition called neurofibromatosis which is characterized by "cafe-au-lait" spots. He started with one at about 2 months of age. He is now 10 with literally 1,000's of them.....I don't know as if there has ever been a thought to a connection in this way. He has never had anything with his liver tested???? Any ideas from any of you about what tests I could actually ask to be run on him would be very insightful. I also read of an olive oil "gargle" so to speak that is supposed to help the liver. I haven't tried it and don't know if I could get him too. About the "drink", what are the benefits? I am full of questions and curiosity on this topic. Also, my son is a very picky eater but if I could have some "evidence" that we could change his NF maybe I could convince him otherwise. Although I have been raw since 8/05, I have a hard time getting my family to go above 50%....and Josh even less as he HATES veggies and even most fruits...I really feel this may be part of his problem so if anyone has any research links or such I'd love to learn more!

Once when I did a gallbladder/liver cleanse a liver spot I have on my face peeled off. It came back but now it is much lighter. I think through cleansing it will go away completely.

What are the benefits of the drink and how does it taste? How can I possibly get my 10 year old to drink it???

NFrawRUNNER. I was craving the ginger and garlic anyway so I have no problem with it. If he cannot handle the drink he is not meant to have it. I am getting better and everyone was complaining about how the drink made me stink so I have stopped. Perhaps if you made it very mild (like halve or quarter the first dose) and see if he will tolerate that.
