I ordered some of these online. They were raw. And very expensive for such a tiny bag. I tried them and they tasted just like a cinnamon roll. Then I had my daughter try them. Then there were no more. Normally she won't touch pecans but she has been experimenting after she discovered that sprouted almonds taste like potato chips. She loved the pecans made like this! So I decided to try my own. The ingredients are just dates, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
I didn't measure anything. Just did it till it tasted and looked right. Used all of my remaining dates (after I made a batch of faux Sahale snacks), then added a bit of water and processed it to make a thick paste. I must caution you to be at the ready with a towel or paper towels because if your FP is like mine, some sticky water will get thrown out the sides. I had to wrap it very tightly and hold the towels there until the water got blended in. I then added the seasonings to taste, poured the syrup in a bowl and added a lot of pecans. Then some more pecans. Central Market had raw pecans on sale and I went a bit overboard!
I am letting the nuts soak in the syrup for about 20 minutes and then I will dehydrate. But so far they taste just like the ones I bought.
