Hi from Austin! I'm 42, have one wonderful little girl named Maeve (5 yrs), married to a wonderful man named Jasper (who can eat whatever & as much without gaining weight). It's lonely eating this way at home. Hoping to learn "lots" and make new friends living the raw lifestyle.

Hi there,

I know exactly how you feel :) I have just receantly started Raw Food Diet but my fiancee is definitelly not interested. So not only it is lonely to be the only one who is doing Raw Food, but I also cook for him every second day...and it is soooooooooooo hard...I still crave all those foods ( thank God he receantly became vegetarian on my request )... a couple of times I even cheated :(
But I made up my mind and I am going forward hoping one day I will be able to be able to not fall off the wagon no matter what.

Hugs,
Mima

You are making such a Wise decision, You are going to teach your Daughter so much. You know Children learn What they See, so you are going to Change a whole Generation.

You will learn much from this Forum, so jump right in and make yourself at HOME. I am so happy you droped in.

You will run into all types of Challenges, that is why WE are all here, we face the same things. So we hold each other up.

Take it Slow, try to eat as Many Whole Foods as you can, food in its Natural State. Always keep food prepared and ready to eat so you won't become too hungry and fall.

Order Alissa's Book and READ ALL you can about RAW.........

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.......Welcome to MY World......

Hi rivermist I'm from Austin too!!!! How exciting!
I am also new to raw foods and I have two children one is 7 and the baby is 14 mths. I homeschool my oldest for many reasons one being that I can make sure that he is eating the best meals possible (mostly raw). My husband does believe that raw foods are good yet he is not ready to make the break. I find that reading lots of raw food literature and educating him as much as I can has made a big difference. As it is now we are not 100% raw yet and not 100% vegetarian yet but we are in a much better place than we were a year ago. We are a a family on a raw food journey and although we are not going as fast as I would like we are on our way. So stay motivated and be positive you will get there too! ;)

How it going for you? For me, I'm doing so so. My husband slightly cooked some veggies on Friday so I felt I had to at least try them. For the most part I'm eating fresh veggies and fruits. The bread is like a drug, if I have one piece I want more. It's crazy. Tomorrow will be a big test. Good luck to all.
