Hey everyone :D !!!!
Im very interested in the raw food way of life. I just went veg*n a few months ago, and I think this is a great next step. I love fruits and raw veggies anyway, so I dont think the transition will be difficult, however, I have no idea what I am doing  . Are there any pointers you guys would be willing to give me? And how about some starter meal idea (or places I could go to find said ideas). I am a college student, and I dont have access to a smoothie maker right now (pooh) but I dont have a problem eating the fruit that would have gone into the smoothie (that would prob keep me fuller longer). Any info would be wonderful. Thanks!

Hi & Welcome..
A smoothy maker can be a cheap blender & a food processor (again- cost around $30) & you will be able to make a TON of Raw recipes.
I would recommend getting Alissa's Book/DVD combo -located here-upper left hand corner-It will help you with everything.
Hope this helps..

Eating this way CAN be as simple as just increasing your consumption of the fresh fruits and vegetables that YOU think are tasty and healthy....untiil you reach your overall goals. To that end: make a list with two columns. On one side write down a list of the things that YOU think are your worst habits (leave some space underneath each) on the other side, write down the good habits or foods that you want to incorporate in your life. Brainstorm...and be as specific as possible. Then, under each item, write down at least 3 things that you are willing and prepared to do on a daily basis to reach those goals. Set a tentative timeframe next to each of your goals and your do-ables / daily deliverables. If you ever fail to reach one of your goals......re-commit...and set a smaller goal until you DO succeed and gain psychic traction.
Also: Always be prepared. Always eat before you leave the house, and bring a snack bag with fresh water with you when you leave the house. Keep a good stock of fruits or veggies that you like to snack on in the house. Don't be afraid to use sauces or non-raw condiments (or other transitional foods) if they help you to increase your over-all percentage of raw in your diet.
-Do the research and ask the questions, but eventually pick some goals and shoot for them.
-Let us know how you do!

Read, read, read, and learn, learn, learn all that you can on going raw. This message board is a wonderful resource. Also, check out books out of the local library.
Alissa's book is excellent.
Enjoy this new adventure!
Use the banana up top to search for almost any question you may have.
Welcome to the raw world!
