View Full Version : Butternut Soup???

Does anyone know any recipes or anything for a raw butternut squash soup that has fairly proper food combining, no oils, and not much seasoning. My body is so sensitive! Plus I jsut don't HAVE the seasonings or oils.
What about like an apple-butternut soup? I want to make it for my mom and I but I don't know if its possible with oils and such. Any ideas?

Thank you SwishTN
And Star, thanks for the recipe links! The first one sounds great and I think I will try it. I wonder if you could replace apple for mango and cut the curry?
Tonight I just had the squash plain, ate it right out of the skin. It was good. Butternut squash has a nice flavor :)

Hey Lunar Fey,
I might be too late for your supper but perhaps for some other time... We had this tonight and it was delish and super gentle. It reminded me a little of cream of celery soup. Yum! :p
Butternut Squash Soup
By Frederic Patenaude
1 and 1/2 cups water
2 cups butternut squash, diced
4 ribs of celery
2 Tbs. tahini
2 green onions
1/2 cup fresh basil
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
Blend the water and half of the butternut squash. Add progressively the other half as well as the rest of the ingredients and blend. This is a sweet soup that will surprise more than one. It is ideally made using a heavy-duty blender such as the Vita-Mix.
