Ok.. so today I made the mashed potatoes & gravy from Alissa's book.
OH MY GOSH it tasted good!
But... I made a few changes.
First, I cut the mashed potato recipe in half. To me, this makes enough for 4 people if it's cut in half because it is so rich.
Second, I found them too juicy, so I ended up putting them in the nutmilk bag and straining much of the juice out. I LOVE the consistency now that the juice is out. This leads me to think that a person could use the leftover ground up nuts from nutmilk to make this recipe... yay!
Third, I DOUBLED the gravy recipe and I used portabellas. I ended up having to add a little water to make it the right consistency. But dang, it's good!
I didn't have sage, so I used poultry seasoning this time.
This is definitely going to be an addition to my raw Thanksgiving dinner!
