Okay... I am going to peel and then cube and then <gasp> roast some butternut squash in my convection oven (that I paid an obscene amount of money for and it is not getting much use these days).

Okay so I am not a raw purist... I like the taste of roasted squash and I find it to be an incredible incredient in a smoothie. I will continue to roast squash.

Anyway... so... I see squash seeds at the health food store. Bagged... obviously dried and then salted.

Apparently they are edible. I have been tossing them out. I want to eat them.

Do I need to buy a dehydrator? Can I de-hydrate them in my <bleep> #$@*?& <bleep> expensive oven that I rarely use now? If so, how do I do that? What about all that orange goo that envelopes the seeds? What do I do with that?

Ideas are welcome.

:D I try not to put mine above the lowest point and when it heats up i turn it down it takes about an hour and a half but i love the roasted squash taste.
About the seed when i leave them in the squash and then take them out they are sweet and soft enough to enjoy.
My husband mentioned that i could take them out before i put the squash in and sprinkle them with olive oil and spices and then put them in my dehydrater, i have one and dry them out.
I will try this with my pumpkin seeds.
