Hi Rawpriestess,

Well, I am thinking the prize give-away is still having a few minor bugs worked out of it. Currently, I believe Alissa to be away out of town, but as soon as she gets back and I hear from here, I'll bring this up to her to find out the direction it will take.

I know that one time a little while ago we were all helping her brainstorm the best way to choose winners without making others feel badly, etc. and we had come up with ideas such as drawings, etc. But since the last winner which was one of our members named Gosia, there hasn't been any others that I know of.

So, we'll see what's up with that shortly.

Meanwhile, as for starting another 30 days...you can either start a fresh new journal, leaving the old one up as an archive of sorts and to be inspiration to others who read it, or you can just continue on under the same journal and just indicate where you are with it, or you can simply journal at your leisure if you desire to do so but not really do it "officially".

Hey Rawpriestess,

I don't know if you had seen this already or not, so I'm bumping it up for you.

I still hadn't had a chance to contact Alissa regarding this and I saw that she posted on yesterday so perhaps she'll even see this herself and respond...but etiher way, I'll try and have an answer for you today or tomorrow if I get in touch with her.

I would love to nominate rawmommie to win a prize from reading her journal. Her raw challenge was last year and she still seems to be consistant with her raw lifestyle, and is super-positive!

Hi im back.
Well, as far as prizes, i became a bit sidetracked with that because after the first few months of prizes for certain people, i started to give assistance to individuals who needed it from this board such as a free book, a consultation when someone couldn’t afford it, help when someone was in serious trouble with health, etc... My feeling was that i have been giving a LOT of freebee's and 'prizes' but i guess because they haven’t been announced it seems to others that its no longer something that’s being done.
i need to think about it more, there’s just something about the voting process or 'picking a winner' that makes me not like that approach. i guess ive never liked the idea of competing or trying to win, i like that everyone here just does the best they can and is supported in that. But like you pointed out in the 'rules' and on the home page it states 'prizes' etc... Maybe i need to change that? i kind of like the idea of giving incognito and if that person wants to share something that they received that’s fine but that it not announced?... hmmmm... let me talk this over and think it over as i know that prizes and winning can be a motivator for some people.
thanks for bringing this to my attention again, guess i haven’t found a good way to asses the winner, as when i look though the journals and read the post so many of you are doing incredible things that its hard to pick.
Best,
Alissa

Just wanted to let you know that my vote for rawmommie wasn't based on anything personal. I don't know her personally, nor do I have any kind of relationship with her, but found her journal to be very inspiring and based on the views, it must have been inspiring to more than just me!

hi Sharon, no problem. i actually wanted people in the beginning to write me and tell me who they think should win and then i realized i get enough emails! so that wouldn’t work and voting on a forum thread just seemed to leave too many bad feeling you know as there are so many good ones. i was thinking if it could be done incognito or something like that... anyway, no problem, im sure her journal inspires many as your does as well!
Best,
Alissa

I like the raffle idea or the private voting where nobody sees how
many votes everyone gets as to not hurt others feelings....

It would be a neat idea to actually have a place where you can vote for the person who's journal you're reading. Like a box to click or something. Then all the votes get tallied by the computer and sent to the administrator, who can check out the journal to make sure it wasn't jinxed, lol.

I like Alissa's idea of just giving as she does ~ a private session or a book, or something that she does incognito.

Personally, my gift is my health and the prize is the knowledge that I care about me enough to do what it takes to get where I am.

My vote ~ Alissa, do what you've been doing. This site is a gift. That everyone shares and supports each other is the prize. Why/how should anyone expect more? (Yeah, yeah, I know what it said).

Injoy and eternal-harmony ~

Wow Sharon. I'm so honored that you would even think of me! That's prize enough!!! Thanks, it made my day reading that. :)

(I need to get back to my journal, it's sat quiet long enough now!)
