I wanted to say hello to everyone. I am very excited to join this community.
I saw Alissa on the Tyra show and I thought that what she had to say made sense. I came to check out the site and what I found was great. A wonderful bunch of people so willing to share their knowledge, so caring and supportive. I really felt like I had to be a part of it!
Today was my first day and I think I did great, I had such a good feeling all day. I have stocked up on fruit and vegetables, I also bought a handful of raw almonds and raw sunflower seeds. I have a question about that(Sorry)
Do you have to soak the nuts and seeds before you eat them?
Right now I have a blender and a knife, I guess that will have to do for awhile. I hope to get a vita mixer and an excaliber, they seem to be the popular choice.
I know I will be visiting often, there is so much to learn.
Thanks

Welcome Fresherson,

First off, don't be sorry asking questions. That's what this forum is for. In the meantime though, I'd like to suggest you use the "search" resourse here (banana) as many questions you have will have already been asked ~ but not all.

Secondly, there's quite a bit of information in the "getting started" section on the home page.

Thirdly, if you've not gotten Alissa's book and dvd's, I highly recommend them.

Now, soaking ~ Almonds for sure. Sunflower, not necessary although they do digest better when soaked and sprouted a bit. IF you are going to get into recipes, then, whatever the recipes says. Some say soak, some don't say (so don't) and others will say to grind.

It's all good and all fun. Just remember to play with your food.

I am so glad you came to check us out. It is always exciting to meet new Family. I am also so happy Alissa was on Tyra's Show and that you were watching. It is important that the word is out and people can make choices as you did.

You are moving right along and I am so thrilled. The tools you have now can do a lot of Good, you can chop and blend, that's what it is all about.

As Revvel said about Soaking, do as a recipe says. I don't soak nuts I am snacking.

You are doing everything RIGHT. You are keeping things Simple and letting RAW work for you. I know you want to read everything you can get your hands on, about RAW. So take it one Step at a time and enjoy your Journey.

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW........Welcome to MY World.........
