Hi everyone,
I've made a commitment to myself to begin the Lemonade Master Cleanse tomorrow. I've done some pretty thorough research on it and I'm very comfortable with beginning the cleanse. Is anyone out there wanting to begin it as well? I could use the support! This will be my first time doing the Lemonade Cleanse, although I have done water fasts before.

you can find the master cleanse on the web, but any health food store has the book, it is small about 7 dollars tops. I have done it, and it is great.
10oz water
to half lemon or lime
2 table spoons of maple syrup any grade. I chose grade b they say it is most nutrient, perhaps c is too, hard to find though. but real maple syrup.
cayenne to taste.
drink 60 oz-1200z a day. My brother is 6feet 4inches he drinks more that 120 oz. He drinks all he wants about a gallon plus 40-60 oz. Depending on how he feels. You can add as much maple syrup as you like but 2 table spoon are recommended. It also says add as you like. I do not like it sweet.
You should drink a gallon of water outside of your lemonade drinks (6-12 cups) a day. I personally rarely make it to 6.
aside from the drink and the water, they suggest a salt bath, that is 2 table spoons of sea salt, please level it. to 4 cups of water. Drink and you will flush your entire intestines in less that one hour. Drink straight done. Get the book or read on line it will tell you chemical make up and why the salt does not stay i the body. It has the same biochemcial make up as your plasma and it floats out. I do believe.
If the salt bath is not for you drink smooth move 2-3 times a day.
The book is short and quick reading.

It is a great book to read because it lets one understand why it's important to switch to a raw diet after the cleanse. I did this cleanse years ago and I'm just happy to be raw so I don't have to do it again. As for the salt water and the smooth move tea, be careful as it may cause your stomach to turn in knots uncontrollably. Just a warning. Going 100% is a great natural cleanser. :D

Jane,
I started the Master Cleanse today.
How is day 2 going for you?
For the salt water flush I think it is 2 teaspoons of salt/2 cups of water.
We can do this! I am going for 10 days and will end on Nov. 21, my 49th birthday.

Hi Jan!
Great to hear you're doing the cleanse, too! It's going well for me, I haven't been doing the saltwater every day like I should, but I'm getting in the routine. I love the saltwater, it gives me tons of energy afterwards. I've also been exercising alot during the past few days, which I think has helped me get through the fast much easier. How is it going for you??

Hi Miranda,
I don't think it's going to be easy to do the cleanse, but I've found that it's only hard when I'm out and about, with family or in the mall where food is EVERYWHERE! Other than that, I don't seem to have any real cravings. I try to start my day off right by logging in here and reading through posts for encouragement through the day.

Jane,
I have started the MC several time. 5 days is the longest I have gone.
Today was the first time I have had a successful saltwater flush.
I sure felt a lot better afterwards.
Miranda, you can do it!
Down 2 pounds! I took my measurements yesterday. I can judge
progress better that way. The scale doesn't always move but loss of
inches is more important!

Just wanted to jump in and clarify the ratio of salt to water for the morning salt water flush (according to The Master Cleanser book). It's two level teaspoons of uniodized sea salt per quart of water. I also found it helpful to lie on my right side immediately after drinking this as this helps it to enter the intestines more quickly. I found this tip on the website that was noted in an earlier post. I did this fast for 10 days about a month ago and felt great.

I just started yesterday and wondering how everyone did on the MC?
I want to cleanse and lose weight. This is day two and I've already lost 4 pounds! I haven't been hungry at all. Last night I had a headache..not too bad. Today I feel pretty good.
Would like to hear how everyone's MC turned out. I plan on at least 10 days, hoping to go 21 days.

I'm sorry to hear about the hair loss. It could be a detox symptom, but I'll be honest with you, it's definitely not a common one, although I've read about the same problem on the master clease bullentin today...was that you who posted there?
Don't give up just yet, wait a few days and see what happens!

ChiChi, I'm not an expert, but just wondering, are you using Grade B maple syrup? A few people have asked if they could use Grade A, and my thoughts on that, just from what I've read is that you need to use Grade B because of the extra nutrients. If you are, then this may just be detox. Curious to know, so get back.

Hey Unique Vision,
You can buy the Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs in any bookstore. It's a small booklet (for about 6-7 bucks) and has all the info you need. I'm finishing up my first MC fast and it was a great experience!
Good luck!
my 1st post. i am on DAY 35 of a 40 Day MC (master cleanse). this is my first cleanse ever so i can tell you that there is NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! :)
i am here at Raw Talk because my plan is to go raw when i'm finished. i just set up a one-on-one with a Raw Teacher in my area for tomorrow and i can't tell you how over the top excited i am! :D :D
if anyone has any questions, expecially those ever enjoyable detox symptoms you'll experience . . . i've had them, survived, and so can you. so if you want to talk about BUTT-PEE, CRAMPS, RASHES, or CRAVINGS i'm your chick. :p

I finished a 10 day cleanse on the 10th of this month. It really cleared the path towards going raw. WOW 35 days! I am really impressed. On day 10 I was ready to stop. It was actually a rather pleasant experience. I felt very mellow during the whole time. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try. I never thought I could make 10 days and it was quite a mental accomplishment for me. I will probably do it again in June.

I was wondering, can you work out on this cleanse? I mean I am pretty full on at the gym. Yesterday for example I ran for an hour, then did a 40 minute weight session, then I did a 45 min spin class... but can I reduce that to say 45 minutes on the elliptical during the cleanse or it is best to not do anything? I ask because someone in this thread mentioned excercise made the cleanse easier.
Also is there any where online the basics of the cleanse are spelt out? The reason is that I want to start tonight, can't find the book in a shop and don't want to wait for Amazon to deliver. I understand the lemon mix quantities for each day but could someone advise how much tea I should be having and when as well as the salt water. Also I hear you are meant to take probiotics after the fast. Any particular type/brand?

I'm just wondering...do we really have to use fresh lemon juice when doing the Master Cleanse? I can't afford to buy 60 lemons for a 10 day cleanse. I might do a 7 day MC and go from there. I've used lemon juice (not from concentrate) and have gotten good results.
RHAZULA - but that's just $6 a day, you must spend more than that to feed yourself now!?!?!? well you do have to factor in your cost for Grade B maple syrup as well; but still it's totally worth it.

I have been about 95% raw for the past 3-4 months. My GI tract is giving me some real problems and I feel the need to detox completely of my sugar and food addictions and heal my colon. I have heard that the master cleanse is an excellent way to start. Does anyone know how long I should try this and what is the exact connoction for the lemonade drink? Also the frequency and the amount???

Today is my first day, on the Master Cleanse.
It happened rather spontaneously and naturally, and when I awoke this morning I had such resolve and it just (finally) feels like the right time for me to fast.
[That it coincides with Lent works well for me too, as there are certainly spiritual components involved.]
I've so far had about 375 mL of water with fresh lemon juice and cayenne.
I do not have the maple syrup yet, and may try using blackstrap molasses as I have some sugar sensitivity issues and after reading Stanley Burrough's book, figure that diabetic suggestion might be useful to me.
I am concerned about the Salt Water Flush. I have tried it before with ZERO luck, I felt so incredibly sick... I do have a laxative type tea which I drink at night, and it agrees with me.
What do people think about not using the Salt Water thing, and relying on teas?
And also, what is the deal with exercise? Are many of you exercising while fasting? I was thinking just walking, some days doing a crazy hill to break a sweat and other days just long fast paced walks.
Oh, one more thing... bathing. How often? I read twice a day. And something about taking baths with lots of salt in the water? Thoughts on this?
I do not look forward to the caffiene headaches that will hit soon, as I hadn't given up black coffee yet. :(
Otherwise, I am interested to experience this 'fast' and 'cleanse'. I intend to try and log in once a day at least, just to keep track of my progress.
So day 1 begins. Maybe I"ll go take a close up photo of my face/skin/tongue to compare with later... Just don't expect me to post that one! :p

i just came off the master cleanse a week ago. my weight has been yoyoing since. which is pretty unusual for me. but i also have some other health issues going on.
so anyway, i'm not sure where it will stabilize. but i've heard from people that they didn't lose much on the cleanse itself. it was mostly the lifestyle changes afterwards that sparked the change.

Hi being,
I started the MC on Thursday too (for cleansing reasons and also for Lent). How's it going for you?
About bathing: I know one cleansing expert who swears by taking espom salt baths whenever she is fasting. Apparently it draws the toxins out of your body through the skin.
Salt water flush: I've been mixing the 2 teaspoons of salt in one cup of water, then after I'm done drinking that I drink 3 cups of plai water. Makes it a lot more palatable, IMO.
So far I'm feeling kind of tired and lightheaded, but still functional. Nothing terrible. I am planning to go ten days and then take it from there.

I've been reading all these past threads and have been pretty intrigued. I have been suffering from some sort of naeseuos pain in a spot right above my belly button. I was hoping a cleanse would help.
I am going to go to the store today and see if they have the Master Cleanse book. But I was wondering..............I am NOT a good faster...me without food = into a cranky tired girl. Would it even be possible to do this for two days and seek results? I could add more days if I feel fine but I have this weekend off from any running or mountaineering activities where I can just rest!!

swingbolder -
when was the last time i didn't eat for 24 hours? a big part of my choosing fasting during Lent is that it is a really huge sacrifice and requires much discipline on my part. i'm a foodie, always have loved to eat, loved to cook, loved everything about food. so it's a challenge. i also know my body really needs a break from the abuse over the past 2 years of being a 'junkfood vegan' and bingeing when back and forthin' from all raw to partial raw.
friday i ended up eating, started with juice and progressed to full out food. this weekend there are a bunch of family here for my uncle's 50th and so i've already had to reassess my plan. it doesn't make sense to plan on beginning a fast on a weekend that i know will be all family feasting and i need to participate for many reasons... it was like setting myself up to fail to reinforce my self limiting beliefs about my lack of discipline.
monday and counting 40 days straight through to Good Friday is my adjusted plan. once every one is gone it will be calm and i will have a lot of time to myself. i am really quite eager to begin simply because that 1st day on the lemonade/cayenne brew was enjoyable - by the days' end i felt lighter.
i will try the salt water flush again, and do have tea as a standby. and thanks for the heads up regarding bathing. i have a skin brush i've never used so this will be a great time to start that as well.
i'll keep posting on my progress every day or so. i hope you are feeling a bit better after the initial few days. it's nice to know there are others fasting right now too.. i imagine the 100's of millions of people globally who are fasting or otherwise during Lent and it's quite a powerful thought!
salsababy - you do not need to purchase the book if you prefer to just download a copy online for free! there are also a ton of sites with accurate and comprehensive information.. try this link HERE (http://healthandlight.com/TheMasterCleanse.pdf)

Thanks for the link swingbolder. I've been intrigued by the master cleanse for years and have yet to try it. I've water fasted before but I was just miserable and dizzy so hopefully this will work out better. I read the book last night and I'm going to try for a least 10 days. I have limes and senna tea already so I'll buy the rest of the stuff. I might as well start today since I haven't been hungry and have had only had water. I'm really excited. I might even take before and after pictures to see if there's an improvement. I'm a little frightened of the salt water flush. I have a feeling it will make me extrememly nauseus...

Hi NZ girl
Today is day one for me - I have done a 10 day MC 2 years ago. It was amazing. Not easy to stick to in that it is too easy to say ok enough already and start eating again. But I managed it then so I am determined to do it once again. Last time I lost about 12lb overall but the best part was the clean light feeling you get.
I am also from NZ! I was born in Auckland although most of my relatives now live in Australia. I am taking a holiday there mid March to visit my eldest daughter, mother and sister and friends. Great time to lose some extra weight and spring clean before my visit.
Good luck - I will be posting my progress

Thursday was Master Cleanse
Friday was eating
Saturday was Master Cleanse
Sunday was eating
Getting through 2 days was a huge accomplishment for me. Food is my VICE.
Today, Monday I'm on the lemon-cayenne water again, and from here on in. It isn't as difficult as trying to fast on juices only. I find the lemon really dulls my appetite, whereas juices wake it up.
How many people are doing the Master Cleanse right now?
There's swingbolder, hawaiigal and nzgirl... myself... anyone else? Hope you all are having a _______ day ;)

Please, Please get this looked at. It sounds like it could be your gall baldder. My husband had a pretty serious situation that turned bad very quickly (life or death), in a matter of days with some discomfort from his gall bladder. He never knew previously he had stones. I'm not trying to scare you, just concerned now for anyone I hear having these types of problems. Please get it looked at before doing the cleanse ( which is fabulous by the way, I did it the first of the year for 10 days, there is some hunger, but as long as you drink when you get hungry, you should not experience any mood shifts).

I'll definately keep that in mind!!! Does stones affect certain age groups? I am fairly young. Knock on wood, my stomach has been doing fine the last few days. Hmm.....I was going to go to the doctor if this continues though.
I did try the Master Cleanse but it wasn't for me at this time. I only made it past the salt water flush in the morning. Yuck! It didn't clean me out, only made me bloated and I hurt.

I'll be starting the MC tomorrow, not sure how long I plan to do it, at least the 10 days (hopefully). I will drink the tea tonight and start tomorrow off with the salt water. How long after the salt water do you all usually have your first lemon drink? I

Day 6, feeling fine. A little slower than usual though, but at the same time mentally clear. A weird combination.
Not much to report, just wanted to check in.:)

Day 2
Feeling cranky and tired.
Nothing coming out of the bowels.. what happens once they are empty? Why do we do the salt water flush and drink the tea if there isn't anything in there?
Walked about 40 minutes in the sun today.
That's all. I'll check in tomorrow.

Hi Being :D
- I have done the cleanse once before and found that even though you dont appear to be having a bowel movement as such - once your colon has been cleansed, you are still flushing out toxins from your cells. I like to think that there is alot of fat disappearing down the toilet also as I seem to pass a very oily type of mixture.
I am on day two also and my day is shaping up alot better than yesterday..I was tired, sluggish and had a major headache. This morning I felt so much better after the SLF and went for a nice long walk. I have lost 2lb. I do have a niggling little headache starting up. Last time I cleansed I gave up coffee too and had a whopping headache and flu like symptoms having come straight out of a SAD diet. Since then I have been eating mainly raw food although I tend to enjoy the odd glass of wine a little too often, which I have found has been my biggest drawback to trying to stay raw. The day after I drink wine I ALWAYS crave carbs - cheese, bread etc...I usually fill up on lara bars and have some sprouted grain bread sandwiches on those days.
So here I am - after the cleanse I plan on cutting all those "not quite raw" things out as well. So any detox pain is very welcome now as I know my body will be in such better shape for doing it.
Hanging in there!:)

hawaiigirl- Another kiwi! I wasn't born in nz, but i went to school in Dunedin.
Ok day 3. Cranky and starving. I'm starting to wonder if this is right for me. I was feeling so good on the raw challenege and now I feel awful. And if I'm completely honest I don't really think fasting is good for your body at all, I just do it to lose weight and I'm not overweight for my height. I've done juice fasts before and felt fine but it was all about weight loss, I never bought that it cleansed my body. This master cleanse just makes me feel terrible and I don't think I'm getting all the nutrients I need from a lemon and some syrup.Good grief I'm cranky.
I think it's all the fushing and laxitive tea. I felt more clean just being raw. I'm going to think about why I'm really doing this and if my reasons are valid. I might switch to a juice fast because after this I think it's the healthiest way to fast and get in a variety of nutrients. Bleh, I hate sounding so negative.:(
Today is day 10/21 on the MC!!
I'm in a good space. I feel the effects of this fast far surpass my physical body. There is so much mental and spiritual cleansing happening simultaneously. Lots of Clarity. Are any of you feeling this way?
I really do feel you about day 3. They say the first 3 are the hardest. That negativity is also cleansing itself. BE encouraged! your on a good path toward health. soon you'll feel light if you think light and Toxin-free!

hello all
Tomorrow, March 1 will be my first day on the master cleanse. I will go at least 10 days, possibly more, depending on how I feel.
I looked last night at my health food store for senna tea, but all they had was chocolate flavored smooth move. I bought it and I am hoping that this will be okay as my herbal laxative tea. Is this tea okay? Or do I need to get the normal flavor of smooth move or a senna tea?
I am excited and pumped to start the master cleanse. This will be something that will be a huge accomplishment for me. Wish me luck!

Hi All
another 2lbs lost. Today I am feeling great - no headache - my energy is high and my mental clarity is on the upswing. I got pretty tired yesterday afternoon so had a very early night which I guess helped.
NZgirl I hope you are hanging in there still? I know how you feel wondering if it is worth it feeling bad when you can feel so good eating raw though! I keep remembering how wonderful I felt after I finished my last cleanse - so light and clean...it is so worth it.
Keep up the good work you lot! Love reading your posts:) very encouraging.

I have read a journal on another site where someone drank chocolate Senna tea right through their cleanse with no problems.
It has the same senna leaf of 1080 mg but also contains roasted breadnut seed, licorice root, cocoa seed dry extract and roasted carob pod.
As long as it does its job I would say go for it

YES, here's a video of David Wolfe makin a shake, he talks a little about the MC at the end of the video. He says use honey and also add a pinch of salt to your lemon/honey drink;) . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge0kYHjXHL0

nzgirl, I recommend being raw for a bit before you try a cleanse. I think it might be too much for you now. I'd say complete the 30 day challenge, hopefully you'll continue from there and somewhere down the road, when the times right, come back and do a cleanse. I think it will be more beneficial and much easier if you've been on raw for a while. I'm now about 6-7 months raw and am just now doing a MC. I'm on day 2 and it's going great. I think it's going so well for me because I'm not as toxic inside. So far I don't have any detox symptoms. I was a bit sleepy yesterday but worked out with some cardio and weights and felt WONDERFUL afterwards.

I had a crashing headache once again yesterday afternoon and evening:(
So another early night. Day 4 has risen bright and sunny - no headache! lots of energy. I have had no real hunger as yet - but have felt a twinge of "regret that I cant join in" while making my family meals - but I have been able to get past that so far. I am hoping to make it to 10 days and may go for a bit longer if I can as I am leaving on a visit to Australia on the 15th.

Day 9 for me. Looking forward to that nice glass of fresh oj on Sunday to break the MC.
Best wishes to everyone.
I'm on day 4 and am still quite surprised at how easy this is. I expected this cleanse (it's my first) to be very very difficult. My stomach growled once on the first day but hasn't since then. I have no detox signs, at least that I notice. I'm really glad I waited until I was raw for a while to do this. I couldn't imagine how hard this fast would be if I had a headache, was dizzy, tired or had stomach pains etc. I'm even working out daily both cardio and with weights. I think making the 10 days will be easy.
Hope everyone else's fast is going well too!

Is that that disturbing one where you eat clay? I'm sorry, but that is not natural. You're basically raping your gut and wearing on the walls of your insides. If that is a different cleanse...forget I said that.

Almost over with day 5. I am still struggling with late afternoon headaches although they are not so bad now. I felt great today - very clear headed and had a huge urge to clean and organise - must be a reflection of what is going on inside I hope. I sure got alot done reorganised my fridge and pantry and then moved into my daughters rooms and organised their closets and drawers - YAY! it feels great. No hunger at all today and didnt even think about wanting to eat while preparing family dinner tonight. I did however lick a cooking spoon out of habit and was so suprised by my reaction when i realised what i did! I wanted to go brush my teeth - my body is really working with me on that one - psychologically.
I hope you are all doing good. Ama you sound like a natural for this - good job :)
Here I am 13 days down and 8 to go!! I feel great but a little hollow. Not really sure how to explain that one but it's a really empty feeling like my gut is hollowed out. I have also been waking up with incredible amounts of mucus and a scratchy throat. This usually subsides about one hour after waking. Healing everything is great. How is everyone else doing?

It is a great book to read because it lets one understand why it's important to switch to a raw diet after the cleanse. I did this cleanse years ago and I'm just happy to be raw so I don't have to do it again. As for the salt water and the smooth move tea, be careful as it may cause your stomach to turn in knots uncontrollably. Just a warning. Going 100% is a great natural cleanser. :D
 I became Vegan after the cleanse and now I feel great!!!!

I'm on Day 10 and will make this my last day. Even though my body has definitely not finished cleansing -- in fact I feel like it's only begun to get the real gunk out -- I have start eating again. This cleanse has been hard in that I have been lightheaded and fatigued on and off, making it difficult for me at times to maintain my busy schedule. It's been a great experience though and I definitely want to MC for longer sometime when I have more time for daily rest. Maybe over the summer when the semester's over.

Sorry you don't understand my post; I'll clarify some more for you. I have a friend who attempted some cleanse in which you eat clay. I remember "master" being part of the title of it. Maybe it was his "master's" cleanse or something like that (he follows a guru), but in seeing "master cleanse" mentioned on this board, I figured that just in case it was the same thing, I'd give my warning that eating clay is not natural and really not beneficial. I have seen from time to time some terrible advice go back and forth on these board (notice "from time to time" is what I said, not "often"), and the way such advice gets stopped is because other message board users cite a personal experience or that of a friend telling why the advice is bad. I think the worst advice I ever saw on this board is when someone recommended to a girl with an eating disorder that she get rid of cooked food she had eaten by inducing herself to vomit. Eating clay (had that been the advice) would have been a close second!
So, my post was entirely justified. But I don't quite see the reason for the response you made in the manner you did. You responded to say that you didn't know why I posted what I did and a sarcastic "thanks for stopping by"...what is the point of YOUR post?

There was no sarcasm in my post, sorry if you took it like that. I was saying, thanks for stopping by, that's it. Being on this cleanse I truly enjoy checking this forum daily and reading everyones posts. I was just a bit confused by your post as there was no mention of clay at all in the thread.
While I'm posting, I'll update: I'm on day 6... really not much to update. I am still quite amazed at how easy this is and a bit perplexed by the fact that I have no detox symptoms. I feel sharp, alert, clear-headed, energized etc. I do miss eating though. This is the first time I have ever gone more than a day without eating (I love food!) I am hoping to change my eating habits after this fast, going from a good amount of fats to more salads and smoothies. I have been looking up recipes for different salads and desserts with low amounts of nuts. I feel that when I eat a lot of nuts, I want more nuts and I don't think that's good. I was eating a lot of dehydrated/gourmet foods and really want to simplify.
swingbolder, how's the oj? How are you going to transition? In the book I think it said 2 days of oj, oj in the morning of the 3rd day then fruit. Is that what you're doing?

Hullo :) A few questions.. as this is my first experiment with the MC...
Day 4
Okay, I don't really feel that different. It's weird. I'm not experiencing any changes or cleansing type reactions or anything.
I have noticed my life was consumed with food and thinking about food and preparing food and eating food, and now I am just SUPER BORED.
Otherwise though, I wonder if I am consuming too many calories from all the lemonade drinks with the syrup, because I certainly haven't lost any weight, I don't fit clothes differently...
I'm not into the whole calorie thing but I was curious and thus very surprised to learn that 6-8 glasses of the lemonade with 2T in each glass is about 800-1000 calories, of pure sugar. That seems like a lot. How is this considered fasting?
I'm sticking with it... tonight at 9pm will be a full 96 hours!
And luckily no one at home has noticed or mentioned my lack of eating so I have been able to so far avoid the questions, concerns and all with the whole 'fasting-means-you-are-anorexic' thing that came up last time I mentioned my ideas.. Has anyone had difficulties with family and fasting?
Being, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I haven't lost too much weight, maybe a few pounds and I don't feel and major *cleansing* as others state. I too feel great that I'm not consumed with food and preparing it. What you said about being bored is pretty much what I'm feeling right now. I could have written your post LOL...

Hanging in there! yesterday I had quite a reaction with yet another late afternoon headache - this one was a boomer - had to go lay down at 7pm and finally fell asleep. I felt dreadful! It was gone this morning and so decided to perservere - I was ready to end it last night! I did read somewhere that when you have detox symptoms they are relieved after the next SWF. Today I released some horrible dark smelly toxins which I suppose was the cause of all the stress yesterday.
Once again I feel great :) so I will shoulder on!
9lb of toxic waste released!
Does anybody have any suggestions for relieving headaches naturally? last night I tried yogic breathing, massage, lots of water and nothing really helped - I hope it doesnt repeat itself today...

Ok, today is my fifth day.
What I want to do more than anything is hole up in a burrow or something, cover my head with a blanket and lay around in darkness, and drink lots of cold water. I am seriously CRAVING COLD COLD water. What's up with that?
A part of me wishes I hadn't begun this because it is difficult to hide the fact I'm not eating from my family. I always go grocery shopping on Sunday with my sister and I ended up buying a bunch of fruit and veg just because I was too afraid to get into the convo about fasting with her.
I am pretty bored, low energy and I just don't want to deal with anyone. I wish I lived alone, I think it would be MUCH easier.
It's not so much that I'm hungry and dying to eat. When I think of eating, I am acutally rather turned off. I like feeling, well, empty I guess. Or lighter.
I think it's all psychological and emotional detox for me right now. I don't have food to hide behind, and I'm faced with the truth of my life right now, and it ain't pretty.
I discovered I have no passion. I have no goal, nothing I want to be when I grow up... no purpose, or reason to be excited in the morning. How do I find that?
I tried thinking of when I am/was happiest. These times are all when I am alone, in nature, either at a deserted beach, in a rain storm at night, hiking in the mountains... I'm alone, and I'm in nature. Ok.... so how do I translate that into some sort of life?!
I am feeling super lost now. I am not currently working, which is great for fasting and terrible for feeling like I have any point at all.
Ok this is getting crazy long! So sorry! It's that whole emo-detox.
I want to keep on with the MC or even move into water only, but the supportive environment is not present, and I think that's pretty important to have... I don't feel a desire to eat, but emotional needs are pressing up and purring, eat and feel better, eat and forget all this crap, just eat....
Ech.
Hi there MC friend
Here we all are face to face with ourselves. It's tough but it's a beautiful transformation. Butterflies remind me to embrace transition and trees teach me not every one can seek shade when the fire gets to hot. And right now it's definitely HOT!!! I've been on the MC for 15 days, today. Light as a feather but heavy as lead. If ya know whatta mean. Lots of detooooxing! I definitely relate to that connection to nature. I'm the same way, always seekin' life..ALWAYS! SOOOOO, I am going to be a naturalist and share with children the joys of nature and all that can be learned from it. Passion and joy can work for us in our life and DO steer us in the direction God desires to take us. Surrender to your joy

Hello Everyone,
I have been reading your posts about your Master Cleanse experiences. I completed 17 days on the MC. I think it is the best thing I could have done for myself. It's a little hard in the beginning but the benefits are outstanding. If you commit yourself to a raw diet, you can keep the body clean, healthy, and energetic. I had more energy while on the cleanse then a lifetime of eating. When you do start to eat again, take your time. Do not let any one or anything keep you from your goal. The best side affect is weight loss. You will look and feel great.
Blessed be,
Tuliza

Hi all MC cleansers
No weight loss today but I feel lighter and my clothes are fitting looser. I am feeling alot calmer now although every now and then I have a little spat of impatience with my kids or DH for no real reason - so feel the detox working then! they are all being really supportive and trying not to eat around me etc which is so great of them.
Stina: I have heard that Grade B Maple Syrup has all the nutrients we need to keep active and nourished while on the cleanse. David Wolf does say to use Honey...there was a post a while back about this.
Tuliza: thanks for the encouraging words - 15 days seems like a marathon to me! Good for you.
Being: I have found every day to be so different - with different emotions and feelings of detox etc. I hope you are having a better day today? Keep in mind how much you are doing to support your body in cleansing - go easy on yourself - get a massage or do something fun - just for you.
Soldiering on!

First of all, thank you for the kind words... amazing how much it helps just to have a few folks out there in your corner. :)
I have spontaneously modified my fast. It began as a Master Cleanse, but then I made some cucumber juice today and mixed it with water and juiced lemon rinds and drank that.
Wow. I feel so much calmer. I knew cucumber juices were a great mood tonic but this is the first time I actually experienced the benefit.
So I'm not following the MC exactly anymore. I do intend to keep drinking only MC lemonades or fresh juices and lots of water for the time being.
I'm feeling beat though. I wish my family were as supportive as some of yours'! Hope everyone is feeling alright...
