I'm 15, and extremely athletic. I'm either running, riding my horse, or at gymnastics. I've been vegan for a year and a half, and I'm wanting to start the raw food diet to help me get healthier.
Since I'm not overweight, nor am I really doing this to lose weight per say, would a juice fast or water fast be a good idea?

I would have a consultation with a reputable naturopathic doctor about whether or not fasting would be a healthful option for you.

Hi Jess x0... Welcome to this site! :D
That is great that you're athletic and already a vegan. There is a section that explains more about raw eating. There is a section for exercise with people that are raw. This site has a lot of other information too.
Fasting probably isn't the best choice for you. Raw eating is so healthy and could support you with great energy. You could add more raw eating to what you are doing and see how that is for you.
There is a book that might be wonderful for you. Eating Without Heating: Favorite Recipes From Teens Who Love Raw Food... It is an inspiring book! It costs about $10 on Amazon. Here is a link to Amazon.com if you want to see more about it.

All the best to you...

I also think that fasting might be too harsh for you when you are just starting raw. Before raw I used to fast 24 hours each week(just water), but I could not do it for long once I started raw - even without additional fasting you get so much detox. At the end of my fast day or even next day I would barely be able to move. But everyone is different-if you are less toxic, it might be a breeze for you. I guess you could try and see how you feel.
