Bottled and canned for the most part are heated during the processing. Most vegetables are blanched in boiling water. Frozen berries seem to be flash frozen fresh though.
The idea really is to go as much fresh and live food as possible. Even when using dried beans/grains you will often see them grow during the soaking/sprouting process. Very cool!
Welcome!!

I bought some raw olives in a jar. Haven't tried them yet. Am actually a bit leery to because I ordered two jars and one was leaking. Am wondering how safe they could be to eat?
Most things you find in a jar, bottle or can won't be raw. Some will be and most will say "raw" on them. Pickles found in the refrigerated section are often cold processed so they would be raw. Some juices are raw. You just have to read the labels and call the company if in doubt.
I would not say I would never eat food out of a can though. I know it's not raw, but it is a good thing to have in an emergency situation. At least in my opinion. Lesser quality food is better than no food at all!
