After reading RawkieÂ’s revamped thread about the purpose of this board I really wanted a place for discussion about the positive aspects of AlissaÂ’s book, DVDÂ’s, TV appearances, or anything you may have heard her say in person. This would be other than the recipes, which are discussed very well in other places.
OK, IÂ’m going on memory because my book is loaned out again. (Anyone wanting to donate another book to me Â… no, it would also be loaned out. ItÂ’s so good. Everyone needs the chance to read it!)
In her book, on this board, and probably in the DVDs Alissa did say “just eat raw.” To be perfectly fair though, she also recommended eating fresh raw fruit and salad in the book and possibly also on the DVDs. Alissa has never said it is healthy to eat date nut tort for breakfast, 2 or 3 avocadoes for lunch, and the enchilada recipe for dinner with banana/blueberry pie for a late night snack, and a full day of similar diet the next day and everyday.
On the other hand, she also said on the Revvellations podcast that ‘a person can lose weight eating only doughnuts, if they eat only one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If we want to be healthy we should eat raw, yet we do have to use good judgment.’ (This is going from memory not a direct quote.)
So, those who have the book handy for reference and those with favorite sayings, helpful points, or tips from Alissa please share them with us. And next time I have mine in passing IÂ’ll look for and post some also.
Let's encourage one another,
Teri S
