i have fresh chickpeas soaking right now...since about 7p yesterday. now what?? do i wait for them to sprout a little, or go ahead and start with preparing the hummous?? i have shazzies recipie but would definately welcome any others that you guys have tried and loved. i am soooo in the hummous mood and want it to turn out fantastic. thanks!!

My fave recipe for hummous is hummous l'orange by Juliano. He put a lot of 'stuff' in there which really masked that meany sprouty flavor that raw hummous is notorious for! If you don't have it, I can send it to you via PM. I'm sure I can't post it here.

I have made Alissa's recipe, and it was not "sprouty" in flavor. I used 3 day sprouts. (one day soak, 2 days till little tails just start to pop out.)
Alissa's recipe contains much more tahini than the one I made up a few years ago. Lots of lemon juice, garlic, and cumin goes a long way in covering the beany flavor.
