Oh my gosh! I took a couple of bunches of bananas that were very ripe -- peeled them, placed them in the food processor and whipped them up. Added some cinnamon / allspice and whipped it up some more...

Spread it on the teflex sheet over the mesh sheet on the dehydrator. Sprinked the mixture with some of the raw, shredded cococnut that I ordered from Alissa.

Just got up now in the middle of the night to try it. Awesome! This is a great item to have handy around the holidays -- when all of the nasty sugar cookies, etc. come out.

I didn't measure anything, I just through it all together, as explained. Enjoy!

That sounds so good! I've never made fruit leathers before, so I'm gonna try these. How long do you leave them in the dehydrator?

That sounds so good! I've never made fruit leathers before, so I'm gonna try these. How long do you leave them in the dehydrator? 18 to 24 hours for the banana leather. You could also use an egg slicer and slice the bananas lengthwise. That's a cool trick too.

I just whipped up a batch with banana, cinnamon and a pinch of cardamom and their in the dehydrator now. I hope they turn out ok. I have the old fashioned round dehydrator, so I put some wax paper on the tray and spread it on that.

I make peanut butter taffy,

banana fruit leather, cut into 2" squares,
put 1/2 tsp of almond butter on each square
dash of salt (this is the trick to making it taste like peanut butter)
top with another banana fruit leather square (moisten edges to stick together)

eat, tastes just like peanut butter taffy, it is soooooooo good.

swirls

I also make swirled fruit leather

take any fruit, like the bananas

pour onto teflex sheet, not too thick
then pour any other fruit leather stuff into it, and swirl with a rubber spatula,

to make swirls

then dehydrate

my favorite was banana/blackberry (or any red berry)

very pretty

you can write names like this,

draw pictures, etc.

it dehydrates beautifully into cool weird things

my granddaughters love this stuff

RP, that's sounds so pretty. I made banana almond leather using pre-soaked almonds and we added cinnamon and carob powder.....chocolate leather! Hey, that sounds kind of kinky! We all ate it a bit too quickly.

I love making (and eating) fruit leathers, there are so many possible combinations and additions and I make mine different almost everytime. Except for the standard banana fruit leather, always a winner!

Mmix the bananas with carob powder.....and perhaps almond or orange flavoring. And also a batch of eggnog fruit leather....bananas with vanilla and a dash of nutmet (I drink this often and love it).

Oh, goodie gumdrops!
