Hi y'all. I've been gone a long time - so many changes in my life. You know what got me thinking about coming back? I got a birthday email from Alissa's website in October and I thought, Wow, she went to all the trouble to include a birthday greeting in the program??!!!!

I need support. I'm terribly addicted to carbs, like most Americans, and I think the reason I keep blowing out on the raw diet is because I go three weeks on such a low-glycemic index and freak. It is probably easier for someone younger (I'm 45). It's like you have to, have to, have to get off the starches and "white stuff" and it's like I'm an inveterate addict.

I hope everyone is well. Anyone remember me?? It's been like a year! :(

Welcome back!!!
You can do this. Try green smoothies incorporated into your diet! Just focus on how well you feel when raw. How much energy you have. How much better you feel all over. How well you sleep. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Wow! Thanks! I really need the support right now. I'm at my wits' end with my continual breaking down. I can do this! yeah! And thanks for the green smoothie reminder. They really do help.

Queenie? I'm in Haford County, MD. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from you. So...if you DON'T do this - I'm gonna hunt you down! LOL! Just kidding. I'll be your bud if you want.
I've been raw 15 weeks now. Dropped 30 pounds, but the most monumental thing is that I do not have my migraines anymore. Which I have had my entire life.
See? There's a reason you came back. Here's a couple items of interest for you:

The Yabba Pot (temporarily closed)
2433 St Paul Street
Baltimore, MD 21218
410 662-8638

The Yabba Pot (fresh juice and some raw food dishes)
771 Washington Blvd
Baltimore, MD
410 962-8638

This restaurant will move back to the St. Paul Street location soon, and then this location will close.

Zia's Cafe (raw juices and some raw food items)
13 Allegheny Avenue
Towson, MD 21204

VFL: Actually, I've moved. I'm living in California, on the Monterey Peninsula. The move is one of the reasons I've been derailed, as was a new job with free food when I was still living in B-more. If it ain't one thing, it's another, right? But now I'm settled in (I've been here two months) and I'm running out of excuses. There is only so much you can let your outer circumstances influence your habits.

This is a great place to get fresh, organic produce at a reasonable cost. There is a fabulous farmer's market in Monterey every Tuesday. No reason not to be a raw Queenie!

I thank you for the list - and I'm sorry we don't live in the same area any more.

Oh wow! I'm envious! Sunny California - whoa!
Well, I'm here for you if you need someone to give you a push!
Just remember. You CAN do this.
Just jump in and start. This is the best place to be too. I've learned so much and feel so educated from this message board.
Welcome back RAW Queenie!!! :D
