Well, I know that most here are fans of the Excalibir, and I would be too if I had $170 to spend :-p

So here is my question:
I have an Aroma brand dehydrator, easily 10-15 or more years old.
It was my mom's and I recently dug it out to delve more into raw food recipes :)
Well, there is no variable heat option, so I would love to know if there is an average heat for all dehydrators, and if I'm not over-heating my foods :)
I figure I could buy an instant read thermometer and stick it in the bottom of the dehydrator near the air thinger.....
So does anyone have this type of dehydrator, and do I need to worry about how high the temperature is reaching?

Hey there. From what I quickly read about it on line? It says it will not overheat. I'd try to contact the company...maybe?

Try placing a pan of water in there for a day. Put your finger in the water to see if it is too hot for your finger.

ooh good idea! Thanks :)
I tried to find an "official" company website (and I did), but it was no longer available/up and running -_-
So whats the average temperature for dehydrating? 115? 105?
