Last night I made some apple cookies from the Rawvolution book.. (they were off the hook!) So, last night after eating six.. I made alot more. Today I recieved a recipe for pesto mushrooms to make with my dinner tonight Alissas pasta marinara... but my question is.. if I already have the cookies dehydrating.. and they smell good then.. if I make pesto mushrooms, will my cookies have the smell of pesto mushrooms?? Will they have that pesto, garlic taste to it? I have never dehydrated more than one thing at a time.. so that is why I am asking..

I have mixed different things in the dehydrator; garlicky crackers and fruit leather, and they have not come out tasting funky. Still, this is all experimental!

I don't know what kind of dehydrator you have, but I have an American Harvest where it blows upward through the trays from the bottom.
So what I do is put the mild stuff on the bottom, and the strong stuff on the top in order, then I don't get any transfer of flavors, as the air blows across the mild stuff first.

Very good! I had no idea making raw cookies would be soo easy! I dont go according to the book so you have to do your own measurements. But.. the book says: 2 pounds of red apples, cored and peeled. 1 cup of raw agave nector, 13/4 cups of raw almonds, 1 1/4 cup of raisons and 1/4 cup of raisons. Put apples in food processor. Then in a big bowl add apples, raisons, agave nector and I forgot.. CINNAMON and almonds. I grounded my almonds in my coffee grinder to give it a granola texture.. my daughter even thought it was granola and not almonds! Mix al the ingredients and then put them on dehydrator sheets. Dehydrate at 105degrees for 24 hours. It taste good.. and your house will be smelling good too! I think I put more agave nector then was required.. as I always go over board on the agave nector.. but they were so good they just melted in my mouth!
