I am eating all raw and drinking tons of juice, but I am having trouble letting go of these particular things: boiled turnips and cabbage.

I have been 100% raw before and LOVED it. At that time I never thought I could have a problem with raw again.

I never even would have tried a turnip in my cooked days. Of all things.

Any advice? I know I will quit it before long, but I wanna quit it today.

I LOVE RAW FOOD!

hi, its good that you have a positive attitude about raw.
don't know but have you a dehydrater? you could maybe do some cabbage and turnip in there??? i don't know as i haven't got one but just thought it mat soften it or warm it up if thats what you like.
have you tried any raw recipes with them in? have you tried maybe marinating them in something, to give them a softer feel like you get when boiled?

i hope you get more advice from others who are good at these things,

best wishes

Amberly, can't you just maybe marinate and dehydrate or just marinate the turnips and cabbage...using the same types of seasonings that you use when it's boiled? I mean, I know it won't be AS softened as the boiled ones, but maybe you would still enjoy it prepared in a more raw form?

If you slice the turnips really thin with a spiral slicer or mandoline, etc. that might even help. As for the cabbage leaves, rubbing some sea salt into the leaves also helps wilt them down. Just some suggestions so you don't have to give them up...just change how you prepare them!
