Some of us are doing a "November Exercise Challenge" which anyone can join in with personal goals....

One consensus many of us have had is how easily we can "overconsume" nuts. So, being the holiday season I thought maybe we could have a thread to post some festive, LOW FAT recipes that will get us through the holidays! :D Most "goodies" call for a lot of nuts so we were wondering about substitutions/alternative ideas. Feel free to share! ;) I would really like to learn of a low fat "cracker" /Chip I could have on hand for snack attacks.....Sometimes I use pureed banana to "hold" breads together as opposed to fats, but I am sure there are other great ideas floating out there! Thanks RF friends!

Ok, for me personally, if I'm raw through the Thanksgiving holidays...it doesn't matter how much of what raw I consume! :p However, some are more diligent than I...so, I thought of something because I just made pizza.
What about Alissa's Recipe for the Easiest Pizza Crust. I'm sure if you cut this like crackers or shaped it like bread and dehydrate it a bit longer...it would make a lovely cracker or bread slice. ;) No fat!
2 cups of ground flax seeds (not soaked)
1/2 cup onion
2 celery stalks
1 carrot
1 large tomato
2 large cloves of garlic
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup of water
I'm pretty sure after making this for the first time last night...I will use it often. (Perhaps you could make some Mock Salmon Pate and spread it on this bread for a heavier treat.)
Alissa has great recipes...you should look through them and find ones that you might modify for your low fat uses.
Like you could make the Marinara without the olive oil. Then make some veggie pasta...no fat there.
Or how about her corn tortillas! You could sprinkle them with nutritional yeast and cayenne pepper...to make raw doritos! :D
Although, these are just off the top of my head...I wish you the best of luck in your holiday season! ;)

yes, I agree there are so many nut bases recipes, I would like to have more veggie and fruit bases treat ideas. Nuts are good, but in moderation.
I tend to eat fruit when I crave sweets, but I would like some ideas. I saw a recipe somewhere for carrot pulp cookies. They still had some nuts in them though. They were Ok, not great.

I am SOOO posting my Thanksgiving agenda here...however.. it will probably be a HUGE bowl of persimmons followed by a huge salad with a fat free dressing...it doesn't getmuch better than that.

I just had my first persimmon this week. Awesome! Perfect orange color for Thanksgiving. I'll be doing a mixed raw / cooked meal, but am thinking about a persimmon - chirmoya appetizer.

salad!! Mango pudding, salsa on lettuce, raw corn on the cob, pomegranets (so fun to eat :] ), fruit salad, green smoothie...mm

You can make a crust with ground oat groats and a small amount of ground flax and a touch of water to keep it together. Then fill with apples & cinnamon for a nice pie.

Sounds like a great thing to make for Thanksgiving! I will try this (sounds simple! I like simple! :D )
I just want to add that I just went to your web site and am soooooo impressed! I love it! Good job! I will refer a couple friends there that have bombarded me with questions! It's very user friendly! Kudos to you! ;) So, is this what you do for a living too? I',m just curious/aka nosey!!!! At any rate! Good job!!!
