Just wanted to introduce myself. Hi I am 43 female who needs to lose 152LB. I was once raw around 4 years ago and the weight just fell off, around 30 lbs. But I caved in, to meat and junk food again. Also I was a smoker, 4 packs a day for 20 years. I have been smoke free for a year and a half. When I was smoking my regular weight was around 235 to 240lb. But after I quit I gained 60 or 70 lbs. My doctor said give up the smoking and after wards you can lose the weight. Thank goodness I to not have any lung problems. This is the first time I been here and so happy to find a raw community. I look forward to knowing people here and getting support and giving support. Anyway just wanted to say how happy I am that I found this place. Thanks for listening Mysticalwoman

Welcome, you've come to the right decision. This is my first day too. And you're right - the weight just falls off on this diet. I don't particularly want it to happen this time, I'm pretty thin as is now. But it would be fun if I were overweight to see it shed, that's a great incentive to keep going I think. Strange wish there, but I really think it would be great. Instead I'll work on my friends who are all overweight, they are afraid of restricting their diets for some odd reason. Hopefully I'll turn them around. Reading the right books is a Huge incentive for me. Paul Bragg's books were great to read to motivate myself. There's tons of others all having to do with detox and live foods. I think a lot of people are waking up to the fact that their physical problems are caused by their diet.

Hi and we're glad to have you!! Yes, being raw can be so difficult when you're the only one for miles that seems to participate in such a lifestyle...and this board has been amazing and inspiring to me as I go day to day sometimes wondering if I ought to just cheat and grab a peanut butter granola bar or something like that I used to looove. But then I read posts people make here and remember why I'm doing this...it's just good to have support. Strength in numbers!

I am so happy you gave up smoking, no matter what it took. The Dr. was so right, you can always shed the pounds.
RAW is Good for your Soul and your Body. Your mind becomes clearer and your feet become lighter. That's why this is a LifeStyle and the weightloss is a byproduct of a changed life.
You know how to do it, you have done it before. So I say to you my Friend, GET WITH THE PROGRAM and lets get this party started. Lets start walking and eating RAW and don't look back. Also order Alissa Book and DVD, Today.....
I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.......Welcome to MY World......

I don't have the DVD, I only have the Book.......The Book should be titled "Everything you ever wanted to Know about RAW and had no one to ask".
The Book was so Wonderfully RAW.....I almost literaly ATE it, then I woke up.
Thanks......
Have you joined in on the "30 day challenge"?

Hello and Welcome. New myself, just started yesterday. This has been the best site ever! and I have only been here 24 hours...lol. I have 140lbs to lose so I know how you feel. Of what I have read so far this lifestyle is the best for weightloss and life long health. Because after we lose the weight...what then? has always been my question..so I believe this is the answer. Good Luck with your journey to health. Contact me if you need a weightloss buddy since I have a lot to lose too and we could encourage each other as we go raw and slim down, sometimes it helps when you have over 100lbs or more to lose...anyways Welcome!!

It's really nice to meet you Mysticalwoman. I have only been here for about 6 months myself. I love this board.. Everyone is so helpful and they really care. I have found this to be a great place for support.. I also had a very large goal on the weight I wanted to lose. The best advice I could give on it is start by saying I want to lose 20 pounds.. Then when I would hit it I would make a new goal for myself. In total I have lost 130 pounds. I found that by making my goals smaller it was easier for me to make it.. I wish you all the luck in the world.. It is very nice to meet you..
