I'm surprised because it's the old brown kind of coconut but i sliced it thin now what can i do with it? Can i make a dish for lunch or dinner using it?
It didn't have much water so it must have been a young brown coconut.
If you can think up ways for me to use the meat please post here :) .
Thank you
Bethanie

There are SOOOOOO many things you can do with it. Dry it, eat it plain, add it to any kind of salads, make drinks, desserts. It depends on what you are hungry for.

Hi Bethanie, the more water the younger the coconut, does it taste and smell good? then I just eat it, keep it in the fridge, go in and take a piece and munch down, but you can dehydrate to dry and use as a thickener in smoothies, use fresh in smoothies, in cakes and pies, use instead of nuts in any dish, use instead of milk or cream in any dish
you can shred it and use it to top cookies, cakes and pies, you can add it to stir dry or spaghetti noodles, Alissa' has a pad thai recipe, and the coconut would make an excellent sauce, or noodles.
you can make ice cream out of it, it's excellent,
Victoria Boutenko makes an excellent soup out of coconut meat,
the list is endless as to what you can make from coconut meat.
YUMMY, I just eat it plane, but then I eat alot of things that way lately.

:) I'll go on the internet search and look for some of these recipes.
Thanks so much for the suggestions.

you don't have to go to the internet, it's all here on this forum, just go to the recipe section, or go to the banana, or buy Alissa's book, she has great recipes.
coconuts are universal, use them in any nut recipe, just like nuts, they are the same
