hello, all!

i'm new here, but i've considered the raw diet for the past year. we've gotten off of dairy, and we've cut down on meat. (sugary stuff comes and goes! lol!)

i live in kentucky with my husband of 6 years and 2 sons: 2 years old and 3 months old. my 2 year old loves fruit, but doesn't seem much interested in veggies. my 3 month old is still exclusively breast-fed.

my husband and i both want to do this sort of diet, because we know the health benefits. my mother-in-law is the one who introduced this way of eating as a healthy option. she's currently deciding whether or not to become a health minister with the hallelujah diet association... similar to this website's view.

anyway, kentucky is a rough place to try and eat healthy. the closest good grocery store with decent produce is 40 minutes away! anyway, we're trying, but looking for support. i'm glad to find this place!

i hope to get to know you all around here, and maybe together, we can all adopt this diet permanently! :)

welcome to the forum

if you have difficulty finding great produce, you may wish to wild forage for foods, it could save you a lot of money, that is how we used to do it, before all of this progress.

Welcome! As soon as I saw your location the first thing I thought of was wild greens! There have been discussions on here in the past about foraging for food and many people believe in eating locally grown and wild for health problems. If you go to the search banana and type "forage" I hope the links that help identification come up for you. Most areas have a famous forager that knows the plants of your area so if you can contact that person (some give classes) you would not need to rely so much on photos (double verification).

I guess cutting out something is always better than adding something, especially when on the standard American diet.

Do I know the south and they will fry anything there. Batter it up and lets fry it. And will say you have lost it if you try to get a healthier life that does not include grease, sugar and salt. Your Children are young, thanks for saving them

Your Mother in Law is an Angel for leading you in this direction. I hope your Family becomes one who eats RAW together. If you are serious about RAW, them RAW food will come, this I believe.

One way is to sprout your own seeds. You can learn how on this forum in the red area to the right at the bottom of the page.

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.......Welcome to MY World......
