I am sooooooooooooo disappointed because I will be at work and I am going to miss it (10 a.m. CST here). I have been trying all weekend to find someone with tivo or a regular VCR to record it with me. I know some people watch tv on their computer. If anyone is watching it on their computer and can somehow record it and paste the show on this thread I would appreciate it. I know I can always catch a rerun show if I have to but I really want to see it this week. I am going to keep trying to bug someone to record this show.
Happy Monday Everyone

I am in Houston, Texas and it is on right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are just interviewing the weight loss teams- 3 sets of 2 women each team. Lot's of tears about why they are wanting to lose weight and regain their health....I will keep you posted during commericial breaks! :D
So far the team names:
Diet Diva's ( 2 SAHM)- Dr. Sam- oops....(edit)I think I understood his name incorrectly- It is Dr. Ian
Nanny Pack (2 nannies)-Jillian
and ....
Culinary cuties (1 professional chef and 1 server)- Alissa
going to a break- where they just closed with a quote from Jillian Michaels that said on my diet you can still have chocolate and tequila shots....what?
Okay....we have now had input from Jillian Michaels....and Dr.Ian- Jillian is a big bully....but if you ever watched "biggest loser" you know that already! They are screaming at each other....Alissa is up next after the break ;-)
ohhhhh....okay, Alissa did a great job- but said the RAW diet "Cures" Chronic diseases.....and everyone kind of jumped on her. Alissa is more mild mannered than the other two "experts" so, I really hope she has a chance to show some great results with her challenge team. The camera showed jillian staring her up and down-ugh RUDE bully! Dr. Ian would not even taste the marinara sauce that she made! Gotta run back on ;) They are selecting coach for each team-GO Alissa!
OH NO.....the show is ending and we will not know anything until 2 months from now-bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckitri,
I am so sorry that you are feeling that way! We need to send all of our positive thoughts, wishes and prayers to Alissa and each other!
I don't know if you saw the thread where I mentioned seeing Alissa for the first time on the Today show. Katie Couric gagged when she tasted the Green smoothies.....i laughed and thought to myself - "Puhleeeeeeezzzzz" don't act so ridiculous! I went online and bought the LOLF book that day- and here I am almost 2 years later- feeling amazing! I am a fitness and nutrition counselor- I have been educated on and have tried many different nutritional approaches and wellness plans. I now ONLY advocate a RAW diet to all of my clients. I also work with a wellness physician who sends each of her patients to me while they are following a Yeast Free Detox diet (Scwarzbein Principle)....I slowly bring them to the realization-haha that they need to embrace more raw for TRUE health and vitatlity. So with this TV appearance she will bring more people to be curious....like me! WE are fortunate enough to know the answer and can only hope that the challenge rsults when aired will show this!
Have a wonderful day and feel ultimately RAW and glorio :D us today!

Remember in the other thread, Alissa had mentioned that their agents and the show's producers were prodding them about fighting and negativity - I guess it's for the ratings.
But just that statement alone from Alissa (diseases being cured, etc.) is surely going to get the listener's ears perked up and their fingers on the keyboard just to find out more.
I set my timer, ha. It's coming on in 2 more hours here.

It seemed to me that Alissa got the most time because raw needs so much more explanation as it is such a shock. As the cameras panned the audience in reaction to Alissa's statements I saw people were very intent and hanging on every word - totally concentrating. I had some interruption so I am not sure but it did not seem to me that Alissa got the opportunity to fully answer the nutrition questions posed by Jillian. I loved that Alissa made the recipes seem easy and quick as I still haven't gotten equipment and tried them.
The commercials on the first break were interesting. The first commercial that aired here in Arizona was by the Arizona Nutrition Network and I truly thought that it was part of the show and Alissa's segment. It was a cartoon of kids playing with their food - and all the food was fruits and vegetables! One girl was drumming on her lunch box with her celery stick - and then ate it. A boy was juggling 3 apples and eating them at the same time. It was great! Too bad they only play it while the kids are in school.
After that the commercials were culinary schools and other "normal" stuff.
It really doesn't matter if raw wins although I would like it to. The seed has been planted and just like with me - it germinated a long time before I came to it but now I am here!
The Culinary Cuties may want to do a career change after they learn about raw! They are two gorgeous women and they will look so fantastic after they lose some weight!
Like I said before - the other 2 contestants just seem like marketing creations and they never would have gotten my attention had Alissa not been on the show - neither would have Tyra Banks!

I wish them all well.
I was over the doctor when I heard the rib and burger sound bite.
It was so nice to see Alissa spirit on TV...
It's as if she was saying "i'm a lover not a fighter" .
Kudos to you Alissa for having style and class in your presentation!

I met both of them about 4 weeks after they began and they were both still excited about raw and had made most of Alissa's recipes. They're perfectly normal like all of us in experiencing great successes and a few little challenges. They have the best coach in the world in Alissa, so I've no doubt that whatever the outcome on TV, their lives ... and the scores of others who learn about raw from watching the shows ... will be forever changed.
Meanwhile, I myself missed it this morning! Eeeeck!!

....the show is going to be on in 15 minutes today!!!!! Channel 50 - WPWR Hope that helps those in my area. This morning's show was the breast one but the guide says the one at 4:00 pm is about 6 women following different diet plans and I just saw a preview and saw Alissa!! I can't wait!! P.S. I'm ecstatic for another reason, too. My 4 year-old and 2 year-old ate raw today! My 4 year old was crying earlier because he wanted his regular cooked food but it's afternoon now and he's already asking for more raw sunflower seeds.....I know it's not going to always be this easy but it's a start and I am so proud of them!!!!

Hi, I would love to see the show.
I come from germany, I don`t know how I can see it. Is there any possibility to see it in internet?
Which time in germany it will be sending?
Thank you very much for your help!

Madru - keep checking Alissa's main page for a link. Click on her name under "Books, DVD's ...." and click on "Today" where it says to see her live on the Tyra Banks show. I have not watched to see if it is the whole show.
OOPs -sorry - I don't watch TV so I didn't realize that "Today" was not Tyra Banks!

I don't usually watch daytime television but I wanted to see the show. Jillian was a brat and I could not believe that a hamburger could possibly be included in a 'healthy diet.' It was an interesting show although I couldn't stand the 'fighting' I find that so obnoxious.
Anyway, Jillians question about calcium, iron and B12 are so typical of 'nutritionist' ignorance. I just entered graduate school and in both my anatomy and physiology class AND biochemistry it is made very clear that the body makes both B12 and vitamin K in the large intestine. While the large intestine is not a major site for absorption it is the primary source of absorption for these two nutrients. Why would the body make B12 in an area of the body where it couldn't utilize it, that's typical medical dogma for you.
I wish Alissa would have been able to answer the questions posed by Jillian because they are so crucial to a raw food diet and I believe more people would be willing to investigate it if they realized they can get the nutrients they need. I have been asked these same questions by clients and in the beginning I was so amazed at the wide availability of these nutrients. I found iron in oranges, raisins, dates, grains, legumes, green leafy vegetables, just about every plant food has it. Same with calcium.
The show was pretty interesting, I really hope that the raw group results will be good. Americans really need a positive view on raw food. I loved it when Alissa stated that raw food cures diseases all while the doctor shook his head, ahhhh the ignorance of doctors. He was very offended when she said doctors make too much money off prescriptions to care about a cure..ha ha so true. I am excited to see the results show although I don't plan on ever watching the Tyra Banks show again after that, what a joke.

I tried the tyrashow.com website and the oxygen.com site (bc that is where they show and reshow the tyrashow late night, 11pm and 12am - at least eastcoast) but it didn't have anything about reshowing the diet episode this week.
I'm wondering if you anyone can be more insightful about this?
I really wanna see it!
thanks :)

Her website shows that, in some markets, it reruns 2 weeks after the original show. You can see if your city is one of them.
Regardless, I understand that it will be available to watch through www.alissacohen.com at some point. I bet the moderators will know!

Hey all! I wanted to add my 2 cents here. I watched the show (a friend taped it for me) and I was almost hurt by the other two, Jillian and Dr. Ian's rudeness. Poor Alissa. Questions were posed and she was not allowed to answer them. I didn't understand that? Jillian IS a brat - I thought she was great on The Biggest Loser, but she stunk on Tyra's show and Dr. Ian, well, he was arrogant, beligerant (sp?), and rude. They both were rude, I thought. But I guess the title The Diet WARS had something to do with the anger aspect. PLUS, and we all know this, eating SAD food makes one irritable and madder.
I felt so bad for Alissa. Here she sat quietly and listened while each of the others went through their plans.
Another thing that really made me not want to even give Dr. Ian a chance was when Tyra (and by the way, you go girl) pretty much forced him to taste the Angel hair pasta and marinara. Then he pretended to keel over. How rude!
I hope Alissa's team will kick butt with weight loss and a general well-being all over.
I stand and applaud Alissa for getting up in front of everyone and at least trying to tell the benefits of eating raw. There are so many narrow minds out there. So much brain-washing going on. It's sad.
Funny side note? The gal that taped the show for me? She went out yesterday and bought the Fat Smash book (Dr. Ian's).
< sigh >
I tried to turn her on to raw...

"What reason do you think raw won't be widespread?"
"Because doctors make too much money prescribing medications"
Did you HEAR the gasp and chuckle of the audience! I admired her for having the nerve to stand up and SAY that!
