Hey I am water fasting, I have just started day 5!! I would like to do 2 weeks, and I have already fasted in the past. What kind of fasting do you want to do? Water, juice, MC?
I would be pleased to support you :)

I'd like to do water, but have apples on the side if I feel I need to juice. Atually, my water would have fresh juiced cranberries and fresh lemon juice in it to help cleanse my kidneys and liver.

I will gladly fast with you. I too could use a good cleaning, but I need support to do it. I have done short juice fasts in the past (usually only 1 week), but I would like to do a long one this month. Have you already started?

No I have not. I just bought apples to juice for this weekend. Do you mind if I email you?

I am planning to start a juice/water/juice fast probably the middle of next week. I'll be looking at this thread to see what you guys write. I, too, need support.

I think my system could use a good reboot...I'll fast with you. It's hard for me to fast alone anyway. AIM: mershwista....email: i.philomela@gmail.com. And I have apples as well...ready when you are.

I emailed some of you - those that I had emails for. Good luck everyone! We can do this.

Dreamrawalwz, I have not heard from you, but you said you bought apples for this weekend, so maybe you are starting today (Saturday)? I will start today also. I will be fasting on water and juice - mostly green juice including kale, swiss chard, spinach, romaine, celery, and apples. I feel like going for 15 or 20 days. Anyone else?

Hmmm...my goals are pretty similar to yours that you stated in the email:

get rid of the emotional eating/binging (yeah, raw foods never cured that for me, either)

kick this depression (mine's genetic, chronic, etc---even if people on this forum beg to differ. I can trace it back generations and generations...)

Lose my college freshman 10 or so

Stop feeling so tired and yucky and apathetic all the time

I have terrible willpower and attempted to start today. That ended in a binge of approx. 1000 calories....even if it was all raw. I feel so restricted....this is going to be way difficult for me to even start, but I need to break these habits and start over...wow, I can't even do 1 hour....this all happened pretty soon after I got up today.

So I'm going to just pretend that was "brunch" and treat this like a normal day otherwise. What else can I do? And hopefully, I'll start tomorrow. But I just don't trust myself to follow through...any thoughts?

I'm coming off my apple fast today... I lost over a pound and a half on 3 days of apple fasting. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

When you're drinking your water or your juice, imagine it flushing through your system and veins, drawing out toxins, making you alive!!!!

Thanks, coriander74.

The hardest part for me is not having anything for breakfast in the morning when I get up....I don't have much willpower when I'm awake and conscious, let alone in the morning when I'm not completely aware yet.

I hope to start tomorrow...any suggestions for me?

Have you tried doing something else immediately after getting up in the morning?
For me, a walk outside works well. I get all reinspired about the day and what I choose to do with it. I just get up, get a quick glass of water, throw something on and head out the door before I have time to think of food. I always feel great when I get back. Then I'm able to make a juice and a cup of tea without feeling like I want to eat breakfast with it.

Well, for me, it's not even a hunger thing. It's a mental thing...a craving. And especially during the time I'm still groggy from getting up...it's like being drunk or something (not that I make a habit of that, either,) because you have no judgement when you're only partially conscious

It's conditioned into my mind....up, food, leave. That's how it works : (

I like the walk idea! I too usually get up and eat immediately. It's such a habbit for me. It's been drilled into my head, probably because I *had* to have breakfast before school for how many years? haha. I'm never usually hunger in the morning anyway. Anyway, today I'm doing ok so far..

Hmmm...ok, I've been up for a while, have gotten to the point of full consciousness (and actual, real hunger), and I'm doing well so far. I took some flower essences (as recommended to me on another thread somewhere), and although I have yet to judge their long-term effectiveness, either that or something else, or a combination of somethings, is allowing me success so far today. Yay!! And yes, the day is young and I could still mess up....but so far I haven't, and I'm happy about that.

I'll join you guys...

I'm starting the Master Cleanse today to "jumpstart" my return to eating raw, after a really bad month! I had been 100% raw for almost three months, but started eating cooked food again as a result of some major stressors in my life. As a result, I feel sluggish and bloated and know I need to return to 100% raw!

I feel like I need a strong break from any food, and a real detoxing cleanse, so that's why I chose the Master Cleanse. I plan to do it for at least the 10 days to maximize the benefits.

Here's to all of us! :)

Blessings,

Mary
