I have gained a ton of weight since my mother's and my relationship fell apart in August. I had been doing terrific with my weight loss prior to that and before doing raw, but then I just stopped caring about myself once this thing with my mother happened. Over the last month I have come to enjoy doing mostly raw, but I have not kicked the fast food habit completely and I am fairly sure that if I were 100% raw I would be losing this unnecessary weight. I would love to hear your suggestions and opinions and ideas for help.

Whole, raw, ripe, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables are the ideal food for health. So, the more of these foods you add to your plate, the higher level of health you will achieve.
For me, I choose to follow a low-fat raw vegan approach. Details of the program I follow are easily accessible here -->

Plus, there's another useful forum here that discusses this low-fat raw vegan approach -->

Of course, emotions are a challenge for many of us and apparently have impacted you based on your post here. So, with that in mind, Alissa's approach works great for transitioning to the above mentioned low-fat raw vegan diet.
Again, best wishes for you on your journey!

the emotional eating - even a day or two here of "not caring" what I eat is such an obstacle for me. Thank you for the links. I will be going on them sometime today after I finish working. I am excited to have more resources to access.
I have set terrific goals for myself. My Christmas gift to myself is going to much better health and hopefully some weight loss and glowing skin and energy. This can only be achieved as far as I am concerned through 100% raw. I MUST NOT GIVE IN TO FAST FOOD TEMPTATION AND THE "NOT CARING" ABOUT MYSELF DAYS THAT HAPPEN NOW AND THEN, but how do I do this??? How do I "make it stick"???

Hi Sweetie,
The emotional aspects of eating can be so difficult to overcome. Step 1 is recognizing that you are using food in an addictive I-can-not-deal-with-life way and you have taken that step. Bravo! Now, what to do about it.
I recommend a low-fat raw vegan in that you will have fewer if any cravings so that will help. Then, you need a support group to help with the emotional stuff -- an OA group or the groups someone else suggested...or, if you have allot to lose, perhaps Raw Food Boot Camp which is where I'm a mentor.
