OK, so here we sit on the edge of the holidays and I just realized I HAVE A FEW POUNDS TO LOSE! I feel great, have lots of energy, eating raw... all that. But I find I still need to drop roughly 10-15 pounds.

If there is anyone here that would like to do this with me, I could use a little accountability - and what better place than a public forum!

For me, it begins today!

Breakfast:
My favorite smoothie: mango, peach, strawberry, brazil nut milk, flax, maca, and one tsp. honey.

Lunch:
OK, so I had to eat October. It was necessary for me to reshoot the October calendar photo - and it was so yummy. I didn't over do it though. Can't say what it was, it'll give the surprise away for those of you getting the calendar!

Snack: Dried cherries.

Dinner:
Way, way too much corn chowder and spinach crackers. It was raw, but way too filling.

I just noticed I didn't drink one onze of water all day! Must do something about that!

i would love to join you anna. i haven't eaten anything yet this morning so i'll post everything later tonight :)

what i had today:
bok choy salad
2 small tomatoes stuffed with mock tuna
2 bananas
lemon water
small salad: 1 cup lettuce, 1/2 avocado, mushrooms

also, i'm not sure how much i weigh. my boyfriend took the scale away from me 3 months ago b/c i was weighing myself every time i was in the bathroom or walked by the bathroom. so once i get it back i'll give a weight. the last time i was weighed at the gym i was 126 though. that was a few weeks ago... i cannot wait to lose the 15 lbs :)

I want to join! I have been trying to lose 10-15 lbs for 2 years. I just can't seem to get it off. I have been all raw for 3 weeks now and still the weight is not coming off  .

Today has just begun so I only had a pear. My goal is to cut down the fat. I have been eating way too much of avocados, nuts, and raw desserts. I am going to push forward and try to eat very simply.

...My goal is to cut down the fat. I have been eating way too much of avocados, nuts, and raw desserts. I am going to push forward and try to eat very simply.

See, that's my problem too! Especially since I offer raw dessert classes. And the calendar has just killed my figure! I've been experimenting with new recipes and trying out some dessert ideas. I've made three pumpkin pies in the last two weeks - and loved every bite, mind you - but it's starting to show!

I really need to eat more greens and simple fruit. Cut back on salt and fats - that's my focus. I know we can do this!

Bethanie: yeah, I thought that might help us along. If I see what you are having for lunch or dinner, it might encourage me to have the same. We all get stuck in our little comfort zones of certain meals. Mine is guacamole with carrot sticks. But my problem is I use two avocados. My father always had the philosophy "if a little is good, a lot is better" - when it comes to food that is. I tend to take the same path.

Alas, here I am now with weight to lose... and I wonder why?

I am in!

Should we post our current weight? and if you guy's are interested....I will post my FIT walk that I use with my fitness clients- Strength training and cardio workout combined....just tennis shoes and weights and a path for walking!!!

I am trying to have 6 mini meals each day-(every 2 hours)- and MORE greens!- so far today:

Lemon -Ginger water
Meal #1- small gala apple with 1 tbsp. raw almond butter

Meal #2- 1/2 cantaloupe filled with yummy blackberries

Meal #3- sliced banana sprinkled with a few chopped black walnuts

Meal #4- running errands in the rain today- ate a whole container of "Just Fruit".......2 large bottles of Fiji water in the car :o www.justtomatoes.com FYI....an hour or so later horrible bloating from the "JUST Fruit"- moderation i guess-haha!

Meal #5- HUGE greens(4 kinds) salad with broccolli, shredded carrots-raw ceasar dressing and sprinkled 1tsp. pumpkin seeds on top-yummy

Meal #6- Almond cheez and a few carrot's

btw.....the bloating became extreme GAS by bedtime???? Not sure about the just fruit mix- if you try it do so carefully haha!

Ahhhhhhhhh, count me in...I'm into my 7th week 100% raw...lost 9 pounds the first 3 weeks...and now STUCK!!!...and gee whiz, perhaps it's the dual avocado guacamole??? ha! ha!...I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has the disease of 'more'!!!......and nuts...ahhhhhh, love 'em...rationalize...'but they're raw'!!!!

I, too, would like to lose about 15 pounds....I did change may way of eating two days ago and I already see results....cutting way back on nuts...Monday a mere few walnuts...yesterday none...starting my day with a fruit smoothie...today it was all peach...I'm taking a green smoothy in a thermos for my mid-morning and afternoon snack...a salad for lunch...

In the past 7 weeks (I could see energy results within 4 days) within two weeks I was getting a lot of compliments on my skin...it's smoother then it's been since I was 10 or 11...I no longer have a bloated feeling ...though I ate what I thought was very healthy...I see now before raw I was eating way to many grains...

I'm a massage therapist and have to keep food in my cupboard at work to eat quickly between patients (I work for a chiro)...I've been keeping fruit and now I'm gonna try the green smoothy...to take a few drinks every so often as needed...I love 'em...

Okay my healthy pals, I'll check in as I can to get more food ideas from ya'lls....

I'm from Huntington Beach, CA...so I have a lot of choices in where I eat...and what I have available .....

Love, Elaine

I am going to do the mini meals too. That always worked for me even before I was raw.

so far
-one honeycrisp apple

I want to do atleast 30 minutes of cardio a day! That is my next endeavor this morning

This morning I was 117 lbs at 5'5"( I am going to lose 10... and then I won't want to lose anymore... ever again :))

Me too with those mini meals- If I let myself get too hungry ....I am too tempted to eat my kids snacks in the pantry- yikes! If I keep the meals to every 2 hours....it should also keep my caloric intake where it should be- I am 5' 7" and about 145 at 20% body fat.....my goal is 135 and to stay at 15-17% body fat. Cardio(30-60 minutes) 3 times a week and weight training 2 times per week :D

:) It's that way with herbs, if they bottle said take one then 2 or 3 was better, boy can you get in trouble doing that.
I've started to slim down a little but i should be futher along
Today so far i have had a cup of yogurt, for the last two days i've had been doing the bathroom thing and have felt very weak but now i'm feeling much better.
This afternoon i plan to have a spinach and avocado salad along with a raw dressing made into patties and some celery/tomato juice.
For a night time dessert blueberry/strawberry/banana ice cream all blended together and frozen.
You know it feels good not to have to go it alone, thanks for the suggestion. :D

I'm in! I just started 8-1-1 a few days ago. I'm already feeling a little better, but I'd be thrilled to lose seven pounds. I'm eating fruit until dinner, then I'm having a big salad with raisins and exactly half an avocado with fresh-squeezed orange juice for dinner. I usually end up having bananas in the late night - that seems to be when I have the hardest time not eating. The problem is, if I eat a salad at 6pm, I'm starving by 11, and I still have three hours to go til bedtime.

I've started using www.nutridiary.com to log my calories/nutrition instead of fitday.com. It has more food choices and logs more different things.

Hi guys! This sounds like a great idea! I have been raw for 15 weeks, and not lost one pound! I am eating a lot simpler now, and not a high fat raw diet... still haven't seen changes, but I am hoping (thanks from the support of you guys!!!) that things are working on the inside. I am currently having digestive problems and am not eating as much. This morning, nothing. Drinking water with lemon and agave.

My starting weight is 147 at 5'6 3/4

I exercise 3 times a weeks and am starting back on weights. (use to exercise A LOT, and it just made me hold onto the weight)

Good Luck to all!

Stay out of the recipe section ;) . When I browse that section all the yummy desserts sound too good to pass up. I will never lose that way.

I am at 153 lbs. I am 5'9". My goal weight is 140 lbs. I hope to see other improvements when I cut down on the fat. For some reason I have been constipated  . I cannot understand how that can be. Hopefully the low fat will make a difference.

I wanna lose 20 pounds. I'm going to try monodieting for a while. Tomorrow apples, the next day oranges, then the next who knows. Once I am back to all raw for a while my eating will decrease, for now I am wating a lot. I am hoping monoeating will decrease that.

Count me in! This is my 3rd week being 100% raw and I have not lost any weight. I currently weigh around 150, and I am 5'6. Since I went raw I have been obsessed with making recipes in my new dehydrator, which has not really helped with the weight loss I guess. I have been trying to eat more fruits and veggies for the past few days, so hopefully this will help. My goal is to weigh between 130 and 135. I have never been able to stay below 143 lbs successfully, but maybe having the accountability on this site will help me this time around. Let's stay motivated and do this together!

I've lost about 100 pounds since going raw 3 years ago. 50 FLEW off in the first couple months. Then, with about 40 more pounds to go, I got pregnant (gained about 15 pounds during that time which came off immediately baby was almost 8 pounds), and here I am, still with 40 pounds to lose. There are several factors going against me which I hope to mitigate or otherwise correct:

*I'm breast feeding, and while it burns about 500 calories a day, it's hard for me to keep up with my calorie intake, so by body is holding on to whatever I take in. I need to get enough calories every day!

*I've been eating too much fat! I swear I could eat a dozen avos a day...

*I need to make tme to exercise. For the longest time, I'd catch up on sleep an nap when baby naps. I need to yoga while he naps and go to bed at a decent hour. This will be especially difficult the next two weeks since hubby's job will have him working insane hours.

*I haven't been drinking enough water. During the summer this isn't a big deal since I eat loads of watery fruits, but many days my lips feel dry.

So what to do?
*Daily kundalini yoga
*100 oz water/day (till my lips are back to normal)
*log food on nutridiary.com (I ADORE this site). I'm still working on the Master Cleanse so the logging will start when I'm done with it.

I'll try to post here daily.

Good luck to us all!

I'll look into that website - you make it sound interesting.

You guys all have wonderful ideas and suggestions. For the next week I am going to have to spend more time on the computer and therefore will not be able to move as much as I like. I would love to know more about the FIT walk - please share?

I think it also wise to go ahead and face the fat! I am 5'9" and this morning I weighed 160 lbs. When I left Alissa's training this past May, I was right at 149-150. I haven't been that weight in almost 20 years. It was wonderful! My goal weight is 145. I have an already thin face and upper body - it's what's behind me that carries load - so to speak. I have a medium frame and am on the taller side, so 145 is it! Do I dare reach for that goal?

Just posted my lunch in the post above. I am also going to try and eat "snacks" throughout the day. I agree that that will help curb poor eating habits.

One trick I like to use when I'm feeling weak is to eat before I feed the rest of my family if they are not eating raw or what I want. It keeps me from feeling tempted.

Okay, I'm in!

I was 194.5 this morning, but am trying to get down to about 180 or so. I've got future half-marathon plans, and my spare tire isn't exactly improving my times. (I should also note that in all the miles I've previously run, I've never had to use my 'spare tire' since my running shoes have never had a flat.)

Here's what I've eaten/packed/prepared for later:
8 oz Rejuvelac
large baggie of raw asparagus
large baggie of baby carrots
bunch of flax crackers
1 orange
1 pear
1 apple
1 banana
1 massive romaine salad with cucumber, avocado, more asparagus, flax cracker "croutons" and some home-made dressing (haven't decided which one yet...)

Tonight I also plan to trim my toenails  , so I know I'll weigh less tomorrow.

I am so IN with you maraw. :p

I am so glad you posted, so thanks! I'm getting a little "porky" :o as we go into the winter here, I started eating more indulgently, and I'm more than 15 up from where I want to be, but if I don't join you I'm sure I will gain 15 on top of this...

So realistically are we looking at this taking 15 weeks, or RAWlistically I'm hoping a couple months.

Today I was OK but could be better. I told myself I would start eating larger quantities of lower cal raw veggies, I got out to the garden and made a huge coleslaw from red cabbage and red and white carrots and sweet red pepper. (delish). But then I also made some cookies with sesame seeds, apples, nuts, dates, etc... (told myself I was making them for the hubby, but who ate most of them?) started the day with dried figs and tea for breakfast... I think I really need to focus on savories, cut the sweets, not fear fruit, still eat about 1/4 cup of nuts and/or 1/4 cup of seeds, and some avo here an there... but must bar myself from the denser caloric sweets like dates, figs, etc (or munching unmeasured nuts unaccountably from the bag)... I also understand you should keep your protein up when wanting to lose weight so I am also going to concentrate on that.

I think I will try to eat in the ballpark of 1200 cals, exercise about 300 cals worth. Not to count cals exactly, but that is my rough plan to make it happen.

I haven't been exercising as much as I should and that will have benefits for other reasons too.

maraw, for your computer time, do you happen to have a large inflatable fitness ball? If so, I highly recommend sitting on it while at the computer. It's so great for your back, neck, etc., but also you feel so many muscles being used. It keeps your body sort of in gentle motion, rather than stationary which also leads to problems.

maybe we can also post some ideas for lower calorie satisfying meals.

>>I think I will try to eat in the ballpark of 1200 cals, exercise about 300 cals worth.

This sounds about like me, although I haven't been successful at keeping my calories at 1200 yet - those bananas pack them in quick!

We had company and I made them pasta and garlic bread - those smells were hard to resist! To compensate, I had a whole avocado and box of raisins in my salad (instead of half). So I didn't make my 8/1/1 today. But I think I did okay anyway - I didn't eat even one bite of cooked or even transitional food. I don't think I'll be losing any weight today, either.

I started back on the treadmill a week ago and I'm going to try to continue that daily.

Great question. I hadn't really given it that much thought. I like the idea of going 15 weeks, but we wouldn't have to really work for that goal! I'm kind of liking the idea of 2 months. That may be realistic for some, and not for others. Anyone have any ideas? Do we even need a time period - or do we just GO FOR IT!

I will join you. I need to weigh in though. I have weighed about 129 for last year RAW, but stopped weighing myself a few months ago. I think I am the same based on my closes still fitting. My skinny jeans are still snug. When I weigh 124 I can easily fit in a size smaller so that is my goal. SO I want to lose about 5 pounds.

I am doing an apple diet this week. I like mono eating and I am SOOOOO BUSY that is is fast and easy. :p

I like the idea of no new year's resolutions!

So - about two months, starting today - November and December, planning to be at our goals by New Years? That sounds good to me. And two months is about the amount of time I can stay focused enough to stick to it.

maraw
10-26-2006, 05:45 AM
I'm the same way. Goals that are too far away are difficult to stick with. I also don't want to see Janurary come around and with it regrets from the holidays. I would love to enjoy myself these next couple of months eating simply and focusing on health.

So it's December 31!

Food log for the day (I will edit as I go)
1/2 apple and 2 glasses of lemon water
1/2 banana
generous handful of pumpkin seeds (or pepitos, I'm not sure which)
4 carrot and cucumber mini sushi rolls (with rice - I finished my son's lunch)
2 sun-dried black olives
2 dates w/ almond butter (OK, I'm getting off track now...)
medley of cruchy veggies
another date
Several glass of water

My weight chart:
10/25: 160.0
10/26: 158.0

Today I will edit as I go- I did this on my post yesterday also!

10/26- weighed in at 143.5lbs

Meal #1- Green Smoothie (Kale, Banana's, Flax, Strawberries)

Meal #2- 1 small gala apple w/ 6 brazil nuts

90 minute workout 45 strength training/45 minutes cardio (Treadmill at 4.2 mph)- 1 large Fiji water.....1 hour later 1 oz Wheatgrass-woohoo :D

Meal #3- 1/2 cantaloupe filled with blackberries-yummy ;-)

Meal #4- Carrots with some Raw ceasar dressing dip!

Meal #5- Large GREEN salad with red peppers, zuc's, avocado. Orange strawberry banana juice.

well...wish me luck with meal #6 this is always where I struggle  It is only 7:00pm so, I can't go to bed-haha "WILLPOWER"

December 31 sounds good to me. I kept track of what I ate yesterday and consumed around 1200 calories. I didn't have time to workout so I will make sure to do that today. When I charted my food I came to 15% fat, 4% protein, and 81% carbs. How do I get the protein up to 10%?

This is what I ate:
1 pear
1 mango
5 bananas
handful of collard greens
2 apples
1 orange
1/2 cup almond milk
Butternut squash soup

Weight:

Okay, I'm new here, so I don't know what 8/1/1 is... Does it have something to do with the first of August - when I should have started this 15 lb challenge?

Sorry to report that I found one of the pounds that Maraw lost. Oops! :( (If you'd like it back...) That bowl (and a half...) of (???) was really good last night, but not worth it in the long run. (I was going to describe what I ate, but that wouldn't be very nice for the rest of you who are trying to be "good", would it?)

I forgot... were we trying to LOSE 15 lbs, or GAIN 15 lbs?

Now I guess I have 16 lbs to lose! Okay... back on track! See... I was just revving up my metabolism for the enormous weight loss that I will post tomorrow!!!!!

Almost forgot... Saw a news article yesterday that said the obesity problem in the USA wastes an extra 2.2 BILLION dollars worth of gasoline per year (due to cars having to haul around all that extra weight and getting poorer gas mileage). Interesting, eh?

Usually protein will go up to about 8%, and stay there unless the fat gets higher.

If you work on upping the carbs, eating lots of fruit and greens, you'll do fine. The problem with most protein rich sources is that they are also rich fat sources so the fat percentage goes up along with the protein percentage.

Mango

So, is 8% a good percentage to shoot for? It is so easy to get the fat up but not the protein  .

Rawfigure-I do have a vitamix and a juicer. I do juice greens with my carrots. I just don't know how to calculate that on nutridiary.com. I am going to try to get more greens in my smoothies.

Wow Maraw! You already lost 2 lbs. Way to go! You might not need the Dec. 31 deadline...

Well, I'm on my period right now, so I'm probably just losing some water weight. I mean, I'll take what I can get, but I don't think it's honest weight loss. We'll just see what the scale reads tomorrow...

Thanks for the encouragement anyway.

Okay, I'm new here, so I don't know what 8/1/1 is... Does it have something to do with the first of August - when I should have started this 15 lb challenge?

Douglas Graham's simplified raw plan of 80 percent carbohydrates, 10 percent protein and 10 percent fat. It's mostly accomplished by eating two or three big fruit meals and a salad for dinner.

I forgot... were we trying to LOSE 15 lbs, or GAIN 15 lbs?

If anyone here is looking to gain 15 pounds, I think we'd all be happy to chip in and take up a collection of some of our unwanted pounds. ;)

So far, so good today. I'm supposed to be having PMS right now, but I'm not. No headache, no cramps, NO CRAVINGS! I'm pretty amazed. I'd never know it was any particular day of the month at all.

Oh yeah, except that I overreacted during An Incident at the gas pump this afternoon.

By the way, Maraw, you are beautiful as you are now! (I know this b/c I have seen you silly!)

By the way, what she mentions above is Dr. Graham's 8/10/10 plan... I support that strongly, having met him and worked with him this past summer... living on lower fats has changed my complete aura. Don't forget it is persimmon season!

Hi Anna,

I just saw this post today and want to participate but will do so in the background since I am already posting under the 30-day challenge, which I have now made it through 2 days of :) (Gotta appreciate the little accomplishments along the way).

Below is a tip I saw about avo's that I thought might interest you...It is from Elaina Love but I found it in Karen Knowler's e-book of Best Kept Secrets from the World's Greatest Raw Food Chefs. Perhaps you could try it, maybe doubling the celery and halving the olive oil.

All the best to you and everyone else in the quest to -15...

Secret #5: How To Stretch Your Avocadoes!
By Elaina Love | Author of Elaina's Pure Joy Kitchen | www.purejoyplanet.com
To stretch your avocados when making guacamole: puree 2 stalks of celery with 2 Tbs. of olive
oil in a food processor for every avocado you will be using. Mix it all together with seasonings
and it is so green and creamy, they'll never know it's not all avocado. It's also a great way to
get kids to eat celery.

How did everyone do today?

I did OK I guess. I didn't eat too much, but I didn't really get to eat what I wanted. I was in the car ALL DAY! I didn't take much with me and when I came home for a few minutes, I just grabbed something to make my headache go away.

(I posted my food list in previous edited post)
Not a really great day, but not horrible either. Looking back, I really missed fruit today. I usually eat a lot more fruit than I did this afternoon. I'll focus on that, plus more water tomorrow.

I am dehydrating something right now that I want to photograph and possibly use for the cover of the calendar. We'll see if it turns out "pretty" enough. Either way, I KNOW what I am having for lunch tomorrow!

What about everyone else...? Come on, brag - we can take it! ;)

I did okay - I was close to 8/10/10 (fat was actually 11 percent, but that's still pretty close!) and, for the first time, I stayed within my nutridiary calorie limit.

I had bananas, a box of raisins, and 2 apples during the day, and then for dinner, a big salad with half an avocado. For dressing, I pureed half a pineapple with a teaspoon of tahini. It wasn't too bad, but burned my tongue a little.

I ate well yesterday. I consumed about 1300 calories and was at 16% fat and 8% protein. Fat is still high but I am working on that. I ate lots of fruit and 2 green smoothies. I am trying to get more greens in. I made a broccoli salad with tahini dressing. That's what caused the higher fat.

My weight today is 151-down 2 lbs. I am down a total of 9 lbs since starting the 30 day challenge. 11 more lbs till my goal!

This is really helping me to stay on track. Thanks to everyone who is doing it too.

And a hardy Good Morning to you too FF! Can you tell we've have a bit of Fall roll in this morning! I know my household is bright and chipper today! Especially after that yucky day yesterday.

Side note: my husband was flying in from Dallas last night and his plane was re-routed to San Antonio for refueling due to the weather. It was 1:00 a.m. before he arrived home - he was suppose to be in around 7:00 p.m. I think we've had enough rain for bit - we need to share with others - so no more rain-dancing for those living in the Houston area! Enough!

Back to me (it's all about me, right?). :D

I'm down to 156.5 this morning! Again, it's probably just water, but I'll take the crumbs...

I took a little time this morning to do some tummy crunches and leg lifts. I'm sure it's been well over a month since the last time I did these. I need to stay focused on excercise, especially since I find myself sitting in the car or in front of the computer so much lately.

I'm watching what you guys are doing to excercise, so please share your routines...

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Hello everyone! I am a little late to the game but I am on board for the last 10-15. I am 5"3' and I weigh 133. I have never been this weight (maybe when I was 8!!!) I thought that 130 would be my goal but my legs and bum are still holding on to some saddles. I have found that, although I have been eating mostly and sometimes all raw foods for 7 or so months, I must be careful of nuts (and let me tell you, my soaked/seasoned/dehydrated nuts are so yum!!! I look at them now and think, "leave 'em for the kids and my husband!!") and salt. God, help me with salt!!! I love the idea of mixing celery into the guac. I also made Aliisa's spinach/avacado dip and loved it. I drink smoothies 1x per day. Princess Elaine, if you read this, try finding one of those travel smoothie makers because I find the green smoothies are yummiest immediately after making them and I think their are more nutritionally beneficial as well. Good luck, ladies.

I'm wondering why people feel they need to lose weight on raw? I'm still trying to convince myself that if I eat all raw and don't workout like a psycho, I'll still maintain my weight. I know that eating raw will help to improve health and take one's body to a more appropriate weight. However, latley I've been doing more sitting than usual and so I find myself in a heavier-than-preferred situation. If I eat a lot of avocados, dehydrated and nutty foods, it's not hard for me to pack on a few extra pounds - even 100% raw. Having said that, if I go with a more balanced eating regime and focus less on fats, and I get some excercise in my schedule, my weight drops pretty easily.

Your comment though, I think, is based on the idea that everyone eats like you: 8/1/1, which many do not - myself included.

I appreciate your comment though and see it as an encouragement to create a better balance in what I eat on a regular basis - thanks!

I'm wondering why people feel they need to lose weight on raw?

I just started 8/1/1 this week and it's tough. If I set myself a short-term goal, like losing weight, it will help me commit to sticking with this for long enough to determine if this is the right way to eat for me. The weight loss is a mental way of deflecting my focus to meet my goal of trying 8/1/1 for two months without cheating. I know that if I do 8/1/1 faithfully, I'll lose any weight I have to lose. But I need to play mind games with myself to stay motivated.

So far, it's working. ;)

I love the cheerleading section. Thanks!

Today has been a good day so far. I am at 1100 calories so far. I went to the health club this morning and did an hour spin class. My knees are killing me. I haven't done that class in a year. I like to work out at home. It takes so much less time and I hate to go outside when the weather is cold. I felt I was getting a little bored with the workout tapes I have so I went to the health club for variety.

The weekend is always a challenge for me. We are always on the run at a soccer game or something else. I plan to pack a lot of fruit to bring with me and not worry too much about the greens.

Dehydrate a blender full of green smoothies......make sure you have a few banana's in the mix and it makes a great fruit leather!!!! I even made pumpkin leather last week for a grab and go option. Or if you are somewhere cold....make up a big batch of the chili from the recipe section.....it is great even cold-yummy!

Weight:
10/25 153
10/26 152

Goal:
140

Hi....you can get more protein by upping your greens. As an example.......Spinach is 46% protein and Beef (not that we eat that) is like 23% so why anyone thinks animals have more protein is crazy. You get so much protein in veggies. You never have to worry about not eating enough protein if you eat veggies. Heck, even fruit has protein. What we Americans should worry about is eating too much protein not worrying about eating too little. I'm telling you the truth.:)

My Saturday is over, and for the first time, I didn't go over my calorie limit!

It's been a great day, I've finally had some energy! My exercise is a half hour brisk walk on the treadmill, and I was able to go faster today and with more of an incline.

What I ate:
7 bananas
some grapes
2 apples
a salad with mixed lettuce, half an avocado, a plum tomato, a mini box of raisins and the juice of an orange for dressing.

I don't know if I feel so amazing because I'm eating lighter, or because I started taking an over-the-counter thyroid support capsule. I'm also taking calcium citrate with magnesium and vitamin D because I've been diagnosed with osteoporosis and I'm still nursing a toddler.

I was down as pound this morning, too - but now it's evening and I'm really hungry after my salad. So I'm having another one - which will mean blowing my fat ration, as now I've had a whole avocado instead of a half.

Otherwise, I was doing fine - nothing but bananas and a couple of oranges, and 2 teaspoons of sunflower seeds to stave off nausea after my calcium/thyroid supplement.

Well, the bonfire was alot of fun last night and I even declined the smores ;-)

This morning I was down to 141...woohoo -3 lbs already and I was feeling so great. Maraw, I fell victim to some tortilla chips too- I had a southwestern salad made for dinner with Avocado;s, Pico, Greens and corn and my husband said the chips would be good and well....i goofed :( Well, my tummy hurts right now and I feel really grumpy. I have been is such a great mood all week.

My day was pretty average;

Meal #1- Green Smoothie (Kale, Banana's and Blueberries)

Meal #2- Apples, Melon, Pineapple and grapes from the leftover fruit platter from the bonfire....question: do you think the pre-made fruit platters from the store are treated with a heavy dose of preservative? I have been eating so pure- that the fruit tasted odd and I did not digest it too well- felt bad and ate a few almonds later!

Meal #3 -Southwestern Salad and corn chips :( with pellegrino.

Meal #4 and 5 will be the banana that I am eating and WATER!!!!

I am really tired and am going to bed early tonight- Everyone have a wonderful evening and I will check in tomorrow!

I believe that they may use fresh fruit (non organic) BUT it is cut long before it is served and then it sits and gets spoiled pretty fast !

I too eat pretty pure and organic and the fruits treated with pesticides taste funny to me. Get right back on the bandwagon and you will be feeling better fast.

Thanks for the encouragement......those chips -arghhhh! the scale went up 1.5lbs from the salt intake. But, I am excited that this is a new week. Last week was great this week will be amazing!

I have been so busy that I have neglected my own work out intensity lately.....and now, a client has agreed that I can work-out with her during her Tuesday and Thursday training appointments ,and I have agreed to coach her on a raw lifestyle! I am so excited to share and motivate another with such an amazing transformation.

I have naturally evolved into less, nuts and fats and heavy sugar dried fruits- just because of digestion issues- so this week my intuition leads me to reduce this intake further- just for awhile, to really focus on the way my body feels- especially with so much activity on my calendar. Also, I have to have some photo's to be shot next week and really want to "GLOW"-heehee!

So, my day begins:
Weight: 142.5

Meal #1- 1/2 cantaloupe filled with 1 cup strawberries- lots of water!!!!

Meal #2- 2 small Gala apples

Meal #3- Banana and a few red grapes

Meal #4- Started to eat a plum that was not ripe-sour :p so, I just made a huge green smoothie with ton's of kale, 2 bananas and some peaches---delicous!

I ave been doing 811 for 2 days and I feel GOOD!

Basically I have just been eating a lot of fruit and greens and no fat, I didn't exercise enough yesterday... just a 15 minutes jog. Tres pathetico.

but my weight this morning was 115.5
start weight: 117
goal weight: 107

keep it up guys!

I didn't exercise enough yesterday... just a 15 minutes jog.

That's not exercise? That sounds like exercise to me. All I'm doing is two 16-minute brisk walks on the treadmill a day.

My weight is exactly the same today - I had too much food yesterday. Even after everything else, I had three bananas before I went to bed. I wasn't even hungry. My son and I were talking, making plans for the week, we have an exciting week ahead, and I just grabbed something.

Good morning everyone! I'm really excited to see what comes of Alissa's presence on Tyra. She is such a sweet and gentle person - it is unfortunate that she was placed along side such bullies. TV is a horrible and yet wonderful thing. The sensationalism... ah well, another thread, another time.

The chips didn't kill me like I thought they might. I drank lots of water and didn't have anything for dinner so I think that might have helped some too. I just lost my appetite. I think it is because I was feeling so poorly last night. It got to were it really hurt to swallow and I had a nice little fever to go with. Today, I'm going for the liquid diet thing -- I need to be good to my thoat and body until I feel better.

I had a lovely smoothie this a.m. for breakfast and just had another banana for snack. I'll come back and post more as the day progresses.
-another banana
-raw spinach and herb crackers
-plum
-lots of water today

Do you ever have those days where you just attract the stangest people? I've had three different encounters with the oddest men today. Two over the phone and one by email. What gives? All men too - no women in there. Ahhh, but the day is still young.

I still don't have much appetite and remain a little congested. Will do better tomorrow I suppose.

Weight (Height/5'9")

Today: 154.5!
Goal: 145

My weight is 149 today! I finally got out of the 150's and hope to stay out. Only 9 more pounds till I reach my goal. The 811 way of eating is working great for me. I have lost 4 lbs since I started last week.

Hi,

I'm Samantha and I to have to lose about 10-15 lbs before the end of the year-my goal. I think it's a great idea to team up with someone- encouragement and a big push to keep each other going. I have a dehydrator and pasta maker. I also have a Jack Lalane Juicer. Please let me know if I need anyting else. I look forward to reaching our goals together.

Take care and best wishes for your happiness,

Hi Samantha! So glad you decided to join in. You are most welcome.

It sounds to me like you are off to a great start with the two appliances you have. Do you also have a food processor or blender? Those come in handy as well, but I'm sure you can get along without them for a while if you need to.

This is a great bunch here - we all seem pretty focused on getting those last 10-15 pounds off and FOR GOOD! Watch everyone's post for ideas and tips - that's what I do. I see what everyone else is having for lunch and I think "Hey, that sounds pretty good..." Plus, when I go off on a non-raw slip, I know I must confess it to my virtual friends here. It really keeps me on track and accountable.

Once again, welcome!

Good moring FF! You are certainly off and running this morning.... hope your day is a good one.

I actually gained a pound yesterday! Maybe those chips just took a delayed route getting to my BOTTOM! But in any case, it's realistic.

So today, I still feel pretty awful. Had fever again last night and my thoat is still a mess, and I don't want to even mention the stuff I'm coughing up! YUK!

I'm starting with a small-ish green smoothie today and will just flood my body with water today - maybe a little warm hybiscus tea too.

Will log as I go:
tall glass of lemon water
cantelope
raw crackers w/herb spread
water, water, water

Sorry you are not feeling well Maraw. Get lots of rest today.

I agree about 811. I think it is so easy to lose weight that way. I was definately eating too much fat before. I am going to save the fat for special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am making the raw chili today because that is our custom to have chili on Halloween.

I am new here and I would like to try this out too. I have 6 lbs to loose since the birth of the 2nd child almost 2 yrs ago.

I have a question though. Does anybody worry about their metabolism slowing down by eating a raw food diet? It seems like a lot less food than a SAD diet and I always wondered about that.

Thanks.

Not at all (cough, cough) I'm here - but just barely. :o

Seriously, I'm still going - I slipped last night too. Didn't want to say anything, but since you did first... but that's all behind us now - literally!

I am feeling better today, although not much. Thanks for the prayers and concern. Whatever it is, it's made a home for itself in my chest and I'm not happy about it. A friend recommended some amino acid therapy that I'm going to try to get things loosened up. Hope it helps, and soon!

This morning I've not had much appetite, yet I'm hungry. Does that make any sense?

I just sent ya an email too....but I am so sorry that you are still not feeling your best.

I know exactly what you mean....about the hunger but no appetite- It seems like my stomach is hurting with hunger pangs but at the same time it feels full and slightly nauseated

It is funny to me now that with these little slips- I kind of wonder if I just "do it" to prove a point to myself of "okay...so now how do you feel?" It amazes me that the level of discomfort is so strong that I would ever even be tempted....that mysterious brain of ours- I guess I will never truly figure myself out -haha!

I am wishing you healing and rest today- I have to do a couple of in-home trainings today-ugh! Totally not in a motivating mood....especially with this bizarre weather. Get well and have a GREAT one! :D

yiikes, with all that's happening around here I haven't been on the board in ages.

I'm down to 143.7, that's a total of 23 pounds lost since I started Raw (and have had a few slips along the way) back in the end of June.

15 pounds to go exactly now.

I'm doing an apple fast today. Depending on how I feel, I might continue it tomorrow. I just want my body to feel cleansed again.

I just sent the calendar files to the printer and I feel SUCH a weight lifted. We made it - on time and lookin' good! I feel like I just lost 5 pounds of anxiety if that's possible.

The two grapefruit this morning really picked me up! And the guacamole with cucumber is really good. The texture is kind of different, but I really like the taste! Great suggestion (can't remember who had that genius idea - but I am so grateful for it!

Hope everyone is having a great afternoon!

Count me in too. It's just the thing for what I want right now.

So far today (it's 3:30 where I am):
2 bananas
1 oz cashews
my favorite smoothie:
1 oz almonds, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana, 5 small dates

Haven't drunk any water to speak of yet so will put my quart cup nearby now.

Dinner will be a large salad with lots of green and crunchy things.

Perhaps an RP brownie later.

Going to go for mini meals. I just started back weight training yesterday after several months "off". Still walking or biking an hour in the mornings.
I am ready to rock and roll.
I spent the day clearing and purging my home office. That tells me I am ready to let go of lots of stuff energetically, so it's a very good time to focus on raw and releasing excess fat.

Thanks for the idea Mawraw.

mschele,

WELCOME!

The beauty of RAW foods is that you are actually getting what your body needs ~vs~ just filling it up with dead food that just takes up space and does not give you true valuable nutrition. Your body must work very hard to digest the empty foods and even depletes it's own enzymes. I feel as though I have a constant hummmmm....on raw foods instaed a surge of sugar/insulin and crash on dead food- really something to think about. I hope you will give the Living Foods a chance to change your life- Today is November 1st- how, bout a November 30 day challenge? Try it and see how you feel- you will be amazed!

Have an awesome day! :D

I slipped last night. My sons did a Medieval feast with a friend and I couldn't resist a chance to try some weird and exotic food (like turnips and rutabagas). And since the meal went on til almost midnight, I didn't exercise, either.

My toddler woke up sick and spent most of the day in my lap so I didn't have much opportunity to eat anything, much less cooked food. I grabbed a banana whenever I could. Then I had a salad tonight with half an avocado and some raisins. The toddler is doing much better. I plan to get my exercise in today.

My weight feels like it's up. Maybe Coriander's apple fast would do me good.

I haven't been overly eager to post today. Yesterday I ate dehydrated pumpkin seeds with salt. Today I woke up 2.5 lbs heavier! YIKES! I can't believe the salt did that to me.

Today I have done pretty good. I have eaten about 1500 calories at 16% fat. I couldn't pass up the avocado on my salad for dinner. I didn't exercise today (too busy). I will exercise tomorrow and Friday. I sure hope those extra pounds go off quick.

Good Morning!

Wishing everyone the best day ever! I have a super busy day again today....which will keep me focused on other things than food. I have really struggled since my slip-up on Tuesday evening- it lead to some other things at my youngest childs birthday celebration last night....well, I could hardly function last night and fell asleep at 9:30  So, I am having my LOADED green smoothie right now with the 6 cups of kale and 3 banana's- it is close to being a tad toooo GREEN but I am getting it down :p It needs to heal the damage I have done within 24 hours. I also have an intense workout this morning -need lots of strength.

So my weigh in (sadly 142.5)

Meal #1- GREEN Smoothie

I am home....and I feel wonderful. Had a much better day and enjoyed a 2 hour work-out! Signed up 2 new clients today- Husband and wife...the wife was really interested in RAW!!!!!!! :D

Meal #2- Carrots and a few almonds (4-6)

Meal #3- Large FUJI apple and 3-4 brazil nuts.

Have to go pick up my kiddo's from school and then out to the barn my daughter has lessons tonight......I am making my tomato, garlic basil soup right now so that it will be here and ready right when I get home!!!!!!

Well, I really messed myself up last night. I broke down and took some Robitussen - my coughing and chest congestion just got to be too much and I needed some sleep. I normally stay away from drugs, especially over the counter varieties, but I just couldn't take it anymore.

Well, this morning my eyes are all puffy and I have this obnoxious ringing in my ears - and I gained .5 pound!

I started my day with a grapefruit and I just got my organic produce co-op delivery for the week - lots of pretty green apples, some beets, tomatoes, grapes, potatoes, and lots and lots of greens. I think it'll make a nice juice too. I need some veggie juices I think today.

I am headed in the direction of healing...

The leftovers from the Medieval Feast were calling me loudly. We also had a birthday last night, I cut and served the cake, and it was calling me, too. So I ate some bananas. The leftovers wouldn't stop calling my name, so I went to bed. That means that I did okay for the day - I had four (exactly four, no more, no less) almonds yesterday and half an avocado. Besides that, I had bananas (I lost count of how many), an orange, some lettuce, raisins and a few grapes. My scale is broken so I can't weigh myself. It said 506 pounds. I can accept a couple of pounds of water weight, but 390 extra pounds seems a little off. ;) It'll probably be a few days before I can replace it, or replace the battery (if it can be replaced). I did my exercise last night while everyone else was eating cake - a 2-mile walk on the treadmill.

I don't feel any thinner or lighter or better. I think I caught whatever my toddler had. I feel heavy and stuffy and my throat feels just a little sore. I had some grapeseed extract yesterday and today, I don't know if it will help. I'm expecting some Important company tomorrow evening, and I'd hate to be sick when they're here.

I am at 151. UGGHHH! I can't seem to shake the 2.5 lbs I gained from eating salted pumpkin seeds on halloween. It is so frustrating. I thought I was going to be out of the 150's forever. So far today I ate a green smoothie, 1 banana, and I am about to have a huge salad for lunch. I am trying hard to get in a lot more greens than I normally do.

You know, I think it's worse hovering around the 149-150, or 139-140, or 129-130 mark, as opposed to 155-156. There's something about that nine that just gets us! A pound at that point is almost painful!

Eat some cabbage and I'll bet you lose that pound pretty quickly. It works for me!

Good morning! It has become really chilly here - so I'm off to Whole Foods the morning to get what I need to make yummy raw CHILI! I need something warming right now.

Yesterday, in spite of my hacking cough, was a pretty good day. I had some hot chocolate last night while I was out with my kids - my throat was starting to really hurt and the place where we were had NO hot tea - only coffee, which I'm not too fond of. So, that was my big slip yesterday. But today, I am looking forward to the weekend and some yummy raw foods. I'm down 2 pounds this morning, so I guess whatever I did yesterday kind of worked.

This morning, I've only had my smoothie, but that was plenty. It was bigger than I am, I'm afraid, and I could hardly finish it.

I won't be posting much today - trying to spend some much-needed time with my children. I hope you all have an absolutely rawsome day!

I'm wondering why people feel they need to lose weight on raw? I'm still trying to convince myself that if I eat all raw and don't workout like a psycho, I'll still maintain my weight. I always have followed 8-1-1, so I know that I'm not overeating overt fats. But if we're all raw, shouldn't our weight just stabilize? Please help! Thanks!

I think even Raw the "law of calories in calories out" stands true. So if you are overeating Raw then you will gain/ or not lose ! Eating Raw, especially 8-1-1 it is hard to overeat but in my case it is way to easy to overeat on nuts, and things like rp's brownies !

What happened to our group? Is everyone still doing this?

My important company came and went, and I set out tempting snacks for them and made a delicious lunch - and I didn't touch a bite, not even a taste!! I ate grapes and bananas the entire time. I've had lots of opportunities and temptations to cheat this past week - a feast, leftovers, Halloween candy, a birthday, company and special treats for them, but I've mostly resisted because I knew I'd have to post my cheats here. Don't abandon me now, before we've all made it through the holidays together. :(

I hope everyone is still hanging on too! I haven't posted much because I am taking a small break from the computer. Today is my husband's birthday and I've promised to not spend a lot of time in my office today. I've slipped in here just for a sec...

Well I think the source of my big health problem is my little cold turned into bronchitis. I would love to get rid of it without antibiotics - anyone have any ideas?

I've really struggled with eating this week - not raw/cooked food, but food at all! I just don't feel much like eating in the evenings. I start to feel kind of poorly by nightfall. I'm not complaining - my days are pretty great really.

Well, gotta run - please hang in there everyone. The holidays are just around the corner and I have a feeling we are all going to need some good support to keep our goals in focus!

I'm still hanging in there too. I have to admit, I have been thinking about cooked food a lot more. I am still doing raw and haven't cheated at all. Today I went out to breakfast with my family and I ordered a bowl of fruit. The temptations were there but I didn't miss the fattening cooked breakfast.

This is where I start to feel very frustrated on raw. I can't seem to lose the last 10 lbs and I get angry that I am eating this way and not losing the weight. I do feel so much better eating raw but I want to lose the last 10 lbs. I try so hard to remind myself daily that it is not just about my weight. I want the health benefits more than anything.

I am at 150 and would like to be at 140. Today I had a little more fat than usual but still remained raw. Hopefully I won't gain.

Hey everyone hope you're all doin great.

Maraw, if you wan't to cure bronchitis without antibiotics, maybe try eating a bit lighter, simple combinations, not heavy recipes, and if thats not working, a no added sugar vitamin C tablet or 2 everyday always helps me get rid of any illnesses I get! Its better than taking antibiotics!

Ive just completed day 2 of being raw. Had a few too many nuts today :o but its all good, so long as Im raw. I haven't weighed myself yet. Maybe day after tomorrow, or one week.

Love Seren xXx

I had a minor glitch this morning. I took my calcium and thyroid supplement as usual; sometimes it makes me nauseous, so I eat exactly 1/2 teaspoon sunflower seeds and that takes care of it. This morning, no problem, I had some bananas for breakfast, my stomach was fine, so I didn't eat anything else. A full HOUR LATER, in the church nursery, it hit me! I never used to leave the house without some sunflower seeds, but I've been doing the 8-1-1, so no snacking on sunflower seeds, and I haven't figured out anything else to pack. I keep a Clif bar in my bag as an emergency snack for my toddler, so I had a bite of that, and it did the trick.

Other than that, I've been hungry all day and smelling food all around me, and wanting all of it! But I stuck to grapes and bananas all day. It really wasn't satisfying. Now I'm finally eating my salad with avocado and raisins - and that's much better.

I did my half hour on the treadmill today. And I bought a battery for my scale, and I'll see if that fixes it tomorrow. I feel like I've been doing really well, but I don't feel like I'm losing anything.

How is everyone else doing today?

It was a very challenging day for me today. My husband ordered pizza and made popcorn. The temptations were tremendous. I had to leave the house. The smells were just too much for me. I went to the bookstore to read any books I could about raw just to keep me motivated. I managed to make it through the day all raw. I sure hope I see some progress on the scale this week.

Pizza was one of the foods I was tempted with today, too.

Good morning everyone! This weekend was a real challenge for me - we had family in for my husband's birthday and they ate pizza and bar-b-que the entire time. It was tough, but I did well. I made a raw pizza for my son and I to eat Saturday evening - it smelled so good that everyone tried a piece. And you know what - they liked it! In fact, a couple of them wanted seconds! I only wish I had made more... I also made raw chocolate mousse and a really nice cabbage salad. I ate a bit too much this weekend anyway and gained a pound back.

Also, I decided not to go the drugs route for my illness. I am taking Seren's advise and am going to eat more simply for the next couple of days. I also picked up some supplemental amino acids to help my immune system - but I think I am finally starting to feel better.

OK, so here's the really great news. As my six-year old started getting ready for school this morning, she told me that wanted a raw lunch to take to school. Mind you, this child does not like doing things that are different. She enjoys blending into the background and would rather no one notice what she's eating. I need to get busy coming up with things she'll enjoy taking with her. So, we talked about her choices, and she picked green salad with grape tomatoes, 3-4 different fruits that I chopped up for her and a strawberry and banana smoothie (with a little flax oil) in her thermos. I can't tell you how this delighted me!

Anyway, just had to share the great news!

Hope everyone is feeling well and shedding the pounds today - regardless of how we all did this weekend, today is a new day and a new week! Let's embrace it in good health!

That's great news Maraw! It's great that your daughter wants to eat raw. I have a six year old too and she loves to eat healthy. She won't eat any candy or other junk food. Someday I hope she will want to eat all raw but I am not going to push her.

I am glad you are starting to feel better. It seems like we were all challenged with pizza this weekend and did well. That's great!

We have always used food in our house as a reward. We feel like we worked hard during the week and therefore should reward ourselves with pizza and other junk on the weekends. I am trying to change my thinking and not reward myself with food. I have been going out and getting myself something that I normally wouldn't buy like a picture for the house or a new shirt. I feel like I am saving money by not eating out so I should spend it on me in a different way.

Maraw, That is such wonderful news about your daughter!!!! I struggle with my kids and I would be sooooo thrilled if they actually asked me for RAW lunch!

Well, I had a crazy but really fun weekend with my parents in town to celebrate my childrens 6th and 9th birthdays...! I am not feeling well today though, scratchy throat and watery eyes (allergies?) or maybe a little bug of some kind. I won't go into detail about my rawness...but let';s put it this way I tried and will not beat myself up----although, I will not be weighing today.haha!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend- I am off to catch up on housework and some client follow-up.

Meal #1- Green Smoothie (banana's, blueberries, farmacy greens powder)

Meal #2- Apple and some pecans

Off to put my carrot pecan burgers in the dehydrator.

Yes, we all survived this weekend's Provoking Pizza Predicament. :D

I'm down 1/2 a pound, but I'm hungry like yesterday. I feel like I'm living for my evening avocado fix these days, but now I'm out of avocadoes. I might make a salad dressing from tahini this evening; I don't know if I'll be able to get to the store to buy any more avocadoes.

So, when I picked my daughter up from school today, I asked her how she liked her lunch. She was SO excited! She told me that several of the teachers came up to her table to tell her how delicious her lunch looked and how proud they were that she was eating so well. I couldn't have paid them to do better! Wow! It was wonderful. She was just beaming. She said she wanted it again tomorrow.

Now realistically, I fully realize that this may be a temporary situation. But I am hopeful that it will make an impression on her that is lasting. In the meantime, I am trying to come up with various menu items that pack well that she likes!

Keep your fingers crossed and keep the prayers coming everyone!

This summer my 6yo ordered water and broccoli at a restaurant. The waiter was shocked and made a big deal about how healthy she was. She is still eating healthy! She just loves to shock people about the way she eats. She loves the attention.

You're right! It looks like everyone has dropped off the earth today. Maybe they will climb back on tomorrow. I'm still here Mango, just been kind of busy today - had a really good raw day today, and I needed that. Not too much heavy food, and very little fat. It's hard to remember just what I ate today, but I'll try.

banana
2 carrots
handful of cashews
few raisins
raw soup: peas, carrots, corn, almond milk, cilantro, avocado
I'm done!

Well, I did have a good day yesterday, but really ate WAY too much of that soup. Don't know why - just did. I got on the scale this a.m. and gained a pound and a half! Increadible. I am focusing on raw, which is good, but I'm not focusing on weight loss at the same time. I need more greens. Looking back at what I've eaten, there are NO greens anywhere to be found! Horrible - shame on me. Well, that's about to change.

Hey, LAG - can you come up with some kind of cheer or mantra for eating greens that I can repeat in my head when mealtime comes around?

I've been hovering between 158-156 - can't seem to break from it again. I did get all the way down to 153 last week, but went right back up again. My biggest challenge lately seems to be salt, and I'm no a salt lover at all. For the most part it's sea salt, but still it appears to cling. Also avocados and too many dehydrated sweets. I just don't seem to have the focus I need to eat right.

I am still trying and realize that if I didn't have you guys to keep me in check it would, more than likey, be MUCH worse. Thanks for the cheers and support~

Maraw-I am struggling with salt too. I even had a little bit of cooked food last night  . I desperately need to go grocery shopping and didn't have much fruit in the house to eat. So when I was very hungry, I caved to the cooked :( . Maybe we need to make a committment for 1 week to stay away from all salt and to keep our fat intake to 10-15%? Would you be interested in doing that with me? I like to track what I eat on nutridiary.com. It really helps me stay focused on what I am eating.

Shanna77-great job on what you are doing for your health. If there is one thing that keeps me motivated to stay raw more than anything, it is my kids. I am definitely making my mind up right now that I am going to stay raw through the Holidays. If I don't make that decision now, I will never do it. I will cave at the first temptation. I plan on treating myself to some very yummy raw gourmet meals on the holidays and lots of desserts. I am not going to be concerned about how much fat I eat on those days. You may need MORE calories to lose weight...Sounds crazy but could be what you need? Thanks for the advice. How do you eat 2400 calories? I feel like I am eating all day to begin with. Eating and exercising must take up your whole day ;) .

I am 5'9" and weigh 149. I would really like to get to 140 but it is coming off so slowly. I only exercise 3 times per week for an hour each time. I really don't have time to do more. Maybe I should try to up the calories to see what happens. I was so busy today that I only ate 1200 carlories at 10% fat. I did manage to eat 2 lbs of greens in green smoothies *gag*. It was a bit too much for me but extremely filling.

Fruit calories add up fast...I eat fruit meals, sometimes up to 10 pieces....which adds up, but I need the "energy".....also, it adds up quicker than you think...and I think I do eat all day!!!! But when I try to "cut back" I'm starving!!! Probably because of the running....also, if I cut back too much I'm too weak for a good run...so I just ry to keep around 2,400 to lose a little bit at a time....Do you track on fitday? It helps.
