Hi everyone, I was making raw marinara sauce today and I didn't have all the correct ingredients. I had sun dried tomatoes but they were heirloom and some of them were green and yellow etc. Then of course I had yellow bell pepper instead of red. When I blended everything up the color was yellowish orangeish and looked nothing like marinara sauce. I decided to experiment and put a very small portion of beet and instantly the sauce turned the most gorgeous deep red! I am curious to know if there are other things like this people have discovered.

YEAH beetroot's fantastic isn't it!

(It even turns your poo red ;))

I've found that figs make a banana pud go really pink... gorgeous colour.

If you're into juices you can make traffic lights - with beetroot, orange and greens ;)

When I did my juice fast, I did a lot of beet juice. It's amazing, the tiniest bit is all it takes. I peed red for a couple weeks! (TMI???)
