I'm trying to find books on the raw food lifestyle for my almost 5 year old. Do any of you know of children's titles that go into the high raw or all raw eating?

Amy :)

Hi,

Eating without Heating by Sergi and Valya Boutenko (both went raw at about 8 years old with their mother and father, they are 18 or so now),

go to www.rawfamily.com

This is from another forum - might make sense to you guys in USA

There is a cartoon book that NFL is selling that I was able to get a hold of through the library's ILL program. Can't remember the title, but it talks about the evil villians (meat being one of them) and the good guys (raw fruits and veggies and such). It talks about the bad things that happen to you when you eat the evil villians. I read it to my girls and they loved it (ages at the time were 2yo and 4yo). Worth checking out.

And this was my reply to it...

This is a good point. Frustrating when you start looking after you're kids diet, how *every* storybook has cake & cookies as desirable objects, even "rewards" - and all picnics in books or on TV include sandwiches & cupcakes. And breakfast is always depicted as at least cereal & toast if not fried eggs & bacon or pancakes...When's the Raw Childrens Publishing Company getting of the ground??

the previously recommended book "eating without heating" is fantastic! The pictures make your mouth water and stay inspired.

The cartoon book is ''Children's Health Food Book, The'' by Ron Seaborn.

If you goto NFL (http://www.rawfood.com) and click on children books, it has a lot of children's books!!! I was the one who got a hold of the cartoon book mentioned above. My then 4yo and 2yo really liked it. It is raw vegan.

There are a lot of other children's books listed there and I am really exctied about checking them out through the ILL!!

These are good suggestions. For some reason, I was hoping there would be more books to share with my kids. I only saw about 4 books or so on Raw Food and Amazon. If I'm daring enough, I might create a few myself just to get more kid's stuff out there. I've always had an avid interest in children's books.

By the way, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Amy, with an almost 8 yo son, 4 yo son, 2 yo daughter and almost 11 mo son. I've been high raw and transitioning VERY slowly to all raw. It's been hard for me to give up cooked food, but I keep trying, hoping that one of these days I can give it up for good. I do have lots of successive weeks behind my belt, but nothing permanent yet.

Nice meeting you,

Amy :)
