Guess what I found at an out of the way health food store? Bariani Raw olive oil! They are charging 18.00 for a 1000ml bottle. This appears to be 7 dollars cheaper than Eat Raw's price. I happened to be in the store when they were taking delivery from the distributor. I looked at the bottle, and asked if it was truly raw. (I didn't know about this brand up till this point.)
This is a tiny store across from my office, and I was astounded they had it. I called the BARIANI company to ask about the process, and they were really kind, said it is never raised over 55 degrees farinheit. (I didn't know it was raw till I called them.) THat was why I checked the price online with the major raw distributors. Seems like a good buy. Is it as tasty as Living Tree?
The www.barianioliveoil.com website has a US store listings, so you can check out where the oil is sold near you.
Just thought I would post this in case others could benefit.
Cassy. :)
So close to your work too, that would have made my day. Thanks for supplying the website. It's tempting to stock up.
Cassy,
I guess maybe I'd make out better, food shopping wise, if I moved down to your area of the Sunny State. I only have one store in my town, and they don't carry a big variety of raw items.
You truly are lucky living in the area where you do.
Thanks for the information- will keep it in mind for future reference.

Cassy - how does it taste? Does it have a strong flavor? Agreeable? Disagreeable?
I've known about that stuff for a while and have always been curious.

I will give you all an update tonight. I haven't eaten any yet. I hope it is strong in flavor though. I know some prefer lighter oils, but I have loved olives and oil since I was a kid. The greener the better. Its ok in savory dishes that way. (I tend to use coconut oil or walnut oil in sweet stuff.)
Looks yummy though, and it has its harvest and bottle date stamped on the botte.
Cassy :)

I am reporting back with the taste test:
Had some of the Olive Oil on a great salad made with tomatoes, cucumbers, raw NFL olives and sweet onions. Tasted divine. Strong olive flavor, tasted light and just the way I would have imagined....

Sharon,
I had some of the olive oil and it seemed thick at the time. It's been a while.
