So how did you ever manage you older childrens request for public school?
Have you been able to incorporate additional activites with your relocation?
How's the HS effort going in general for you and your household?\
What's hubbies input? (topic, lessons, activities etc...)
Thanks :)

Hey Lifeagift!
I JUST now saw this...sorry :o
Well, the kids are all still homeschooling...the older ones were being influenced by a couple of their friends...but they now realize that they are in a good place doing what we're doing.
I do have the girls in gymnastics and ballet (one is in gym, the other in ballet...their choice) and we're trying to figure out what my son wants to do so we can get him involved in something.
Hubby suggested a couple of days ago that we get them involved in music in one way or another as well as learning a foreign language.
So, so far so good...all seems to be well in our camp!
Thanks for asking :)

Thanks for the reply.
I don't know how long my at home season will be but I hope to pursue home schooling for the long haul.
Glad to hear your children are thriving.
You may be able to check out several different language videos from the library and see which one peeks the intrest of your older ones.
Some churches and community centers offer conversational Spanish courses for free.
My 3 year old is learning Spanish from an interactive program/game on PBSkids.com
You know your family is large enough to start your own band.
If you find a used key board you may also find someone in your house is able to play by ear.
My oldest has 6 years sax experience and taught herself keyboard. My 14 year old started with the flute and easily transitioned to clarinet. The both tell me once you learn tor ead music, any instrument is possible. I on the other hand participated in band for 4 years never made it past chair 15 out of 16 and still can't read music to this day.
I'll check the condition of our stuff and see if you want to experimentally use them before you make a purchase.
Best wishes on you HS journey!

Great ideas L.A.G.! Thanks!
Our own band, huh? LOL! Yeah, it's definitely something to ponder.
We used to have a keyboard, but I think it "disappeared" when we moved. But my oldest daughter does have an ear and was playing some things by ear. I thought about getting the younger ones and maybe even the older ones a recorder just to get them the basics of music and go from there but they are fighting that tooth and nail. Actually, they all seem to not want to even do anything involving music, but I'm trying to persuade them to at least TRY and see how they like it before they dismiss it altogether.
I appreciate the offer of the instruments too!
As for language, my husband got a hold of some software that teaches Spanish (for my eldest daughter) and Japanese (my eldest son) but it doesn't involve visuals...only the woman or man saying the words and what they mean. But it's a start!
Thanks so much for the well wishes...I wish you and yours many wonderful blessings in your HS journey as well!!
